Android, Coming Soon To Your HP Touchpad
Snagged a HP Touchpad (or seven) during its $98 fire sale in August? Either you’ve come to terms with what webOS offers and its decidedly terminal fate, or, you’ve been hanging out for CyanogenMod to get Android onto the hardware. It looks like CM are getting closer to making this reality, judging by their latest video.
CM has put together an experimental installer, called ACME, to automate the process as much as possible. There are a few steps you need to do beforehand, as shown in the clip, but it’s by no means a laborious task. You can even set it up to have Android and webOS running in a dual-boot configuration.
Sadly, the installer hasn’t been made available and no date is forthcoming — not even an alpha — but I’m sure Touchpad owners are happy to know a bright, Android-shaped future awaits them.
okay need some help here, for the people that overclocked it to 1.5. I've used the feed and the url that is posted on page 1 but when i go and add feed. It saids "the instructions you are following are abosolete. See Http://testing.preware.org/"
anyone experience with this? or does the link no longer support it...

thanks
If you download govnah, there's a preset setting for 1.5. 1.7 + requires more work.
I'm excited for android to be ported over soon ^^

There is one glitch. Don't let your TP run out of power. I was using it on sunday and forgot to charge it. This morning, the device wouldn't turn on when after charging it for a while, the only thing it does is show the CM7 logo cycling. I can hard restart and go to WebOS no problems but android will not load.
Only fix for this is to delete and reinstall CM7.
This time around, I might wait for Beta to come out before I install it.

anybody havning trouble with netflix in cm7? mine keep freezing up every 15 mins or so and i have to force quite it and restart it to get it working again
Co-worker said his keeps crashing while mine has been problem free. Even the dead battery crashing issue is gone with the last install.
In sleep mode, the wifi turns off and battery conservation is pretty good.

In case any body is looking for a way to input chinese in webos here a patch that adds baidu pinyin and chinese handwriting. FOR 3.0.4 ONLY i'm been using this for a few days very stable and the text prediction is very good. There seems to be a minor bug where it doesn't remember that you left that keyboard on eng, next time you bring up the keyboard it forgets and default to chinese. nothing major only one click to change it back. It does both simplify and traditional chinese
to install either:
1. open link through touchpad and download/install directly via preware
2. download to desktop than install with webosquikinstall
