I don't mind that actually.
I know people were using the narrative "Trudeau just wants us to all kill ourselves when we get old!!!", but the reality is having the choice to end your own life in a comfortable manner especially when older should be a choice you can choose to make in my opinion.
Growing old with morbidities sucks, for some elderly they experience a long protracted decline with minimal agency and utility within their lives at that point. My mom is a perfect example of that, if she could die tomorrow she would happily take that pill.
I think its cruel to force someone to experience that type of life until they eventually die as a result of some aggressive cancer, or breaking their hip and suffering through a painful attempt at recovery.
It's a sad and ungraceful way to be forced to go out.

If you let your sick dog suffer while they are riddled with cancer and shitting themselves it’s inhumane, so I don’t know what could possibly be inhumane about allowing someone to die with dignity when they choose the suffering/burden to their family is too much.

My Grandma asked for MAID last year. The answer was essentially that if she had asked for it a year earlier then it would be no problem. But now her dementia had progressed enough that she couldn't ask for it.
So here we are. She's 98 and every day she still wants someone to give her the keys to her Ford Contour that was sold 15 years ago so she can drive home. She's in no shape even for day visits outside and... yeah good luck with that.
Maybe we just need to yell 'She's coming straight for us!' first.

^ford contour ?!? No wonder she wants death
Can you amend your will for “medically assured internal destruction” (this sounds cooler) ? If so I’m going to add it in so when I choke on my Costco hotdog and lose my remaining few brain cells, my wife can just have me killed.

Then your wife just shows the instructions to medical professionals and hopefully they carry out your wishes. Unless maybe your wife says eff him! As substitute decision maker (SDM) I say do everything you can to keep him alive!

When my pops had dementia/memory loss, I did the one thing that you shouldn't do. It may be worth saying ... don't try to correct them with the truth. Just play along, makes life much more pleasant for EVERYONE.

Krispy Kreme coming to Vancouver. https://604now.com/krispy-kreme-vancouver-first-store/
When they came to Canada for the first time, I was all over it. Fast forward to today, I really don't give a shit.

I mean you could find them every week outside Superstore/Walmart, as one group or another would be selling them for fundraising.

Pretty much name any major donut shop that's famous in any major cities in NA, I've probably had them if I visited the city during my many work/personal trips.

JCo from Philippines lasted longer but their donuts were much worse IMO. I don't think they're around anymore either
Mister Donut from Japan has been opening locations but I haven't tried one yet. When I tried in Japan I didn't think they were very good at all
For a while in the late 10's, artisanal donut shops were popular.. those were always expensive, but there were some really great ones. They all died during covid

Be prepared to accept the fact that some of your kids will become Chinese Communists one day. | My cousins told me that they've been trained to bless the motherland and China is #1 and can do no wrong LOL. This is a regular brainwashing activity in schools. I also went to the HK museum of Science where I saw a bunch of super CCP oriented propaganda (which ironically seems American in nature bc of the "NATIONAL SECURITY" spam). I'll post pics when I'm home or maybe I'll send it to Hobz. Quote:

Timmies donuts are shitty -- half baked then shipped to the store to be reheated, icing disintegrates after a day.
Imagine a Jolibee chicken thigh, sandwiched between two KK doughnuts
Homer Simpson would be proud
