Funny fact: The kettle I just repaired was discontinued in North America a few years ago. It's not sold under a different brand in developing countries as the Aicok MK-H317E1B.
For those who are curious: The original kettle in question is a Midea MK-H317E1B. What's unique about it is that all the internals, including the lid, is stainless steel, so no plastic parts. It was the thermostat pin that broke, and required a replacement. The thermostat is made by Strix, model U1855. Strix hold the patent on nearly all cordless kettles.
