I mostly only use my sunglass when I'm driving and when I'm outdoors. And usually when I'm outdoors, I don't really need to read / look at stuff that is up close.
So unless you have a need to look at stuff that is close by while you are outdoors (and thus requiring sunglasses), you can probably get by with just getting the regular single vision lenses for you sunglasses to look at stuff at a distance, and that will be waaaay cheaper than getting progressives. | Quote:

My optometrist said I couldn't wear single vision for my sunglasses b/c my brain/eyes will be used to the progressives so I'd likely get the same headaches I got when I first switched to progressives. I tried wearing my old progressive sunglasses when I got my 2nd progressives and they really fucked me up after an hour even though the change was really minimal (I think it was an extra -.25 on one eye and a slight adjustment for astigmatism)

Probably why we don’t drive like we used to. I find myself driving slower and slower.
Me no see good. No go fast. Too dangerous.

My prescription is very low but my first pair of glasses changed my whole world at night lol. Especially when driving and seeing how clear things were in the distance! I'm the opposite of most of you though, things in the distance are blurry for me. Up close, I see just fine. It confuses my coworkers when they see me take my glasses off to work at my computer.
side note: it's nice to hear some of you are significantly older than me |

I've never had any problems switching between different pairs of single vision glasses, regardless of whether they had similar (but different) prescriptions, or whether they are significantly different like my reading / computer work glasses vs my "regular" glasses or sunglasses.
This is why progressive lenses suck LOL~!
(And also why getting old sucks lol~)
