Apparently, a lot of people want Canada Day to be a floating holiday, to ensure there's always a long weekend. Wow. If that's the case, let's move Remembrance Day or Christmas. New Years, that might be a tough one, LOL.

Really? Change something for your convenience? It's our nation's birthday, for crying out loud. Ask an American if it's okay to move 4th of July (Independence Day).

Some people get Monday off, so it now becomes a super long weekend. Those who aren't fortunate enough to be able to do that, suck it up. Whiners.

News 1130 poll - 40/60 split. Nothing is sacred anymore. It's all about me, myself, and I.

trying to figure out the formula for this, but when it comes to math..i need it to be told to me in a 3rd grade style lol...

so someone help me out here: how many gallons of hypochlorite (5% available chlorine) have to be added to 100 gallons of water to produce a 120mg/L chlorine solution?

lol somebody heeeeellllp!!!! its probably a basic formula...but i suck at math

As long as you buy it unlock and don't mind paying taxes when you enter back to Canada. Get Applecare while you are at it too.

The internet gave me hypochlorite as 1.11g/cm^3, if 5% is chlorine then you get 0.0555g/cm^3 chlorine or 55,500mg/L. 100gal water is 378.541L.

D1V1 = D2V2
(density required) * (volume of water) = (density of chlorine) * (volume of chlorine)
(120mg/L) * (378.541L) = (55,500mg/L) * X
(120mg/L) * (378.541L) / (55,500mg/L) = X ----- Move the chlorine density over
(120) * (378.541L) / (55,500) = X ----- cancel units
0.818467027L = X ----- Sig figs as appropriate, I was never good at that part though.

Pretty sure that's what you need to do. Bear in mind I'm not a chem person, just a bit of a math/logic person so double check the hypochlorite density and water volume conversion (I know there are different gallons).

I think the answer he's looking for is a lot simpler

1L * 120 = 0.0024 L of bleach
50,000

That's for 1 litre of water

Question is the Gallons in your question is it Imperial Gallons or US Gallons?
If its imperial 0.0024 * 454.609 for your answer = 1.09 gallons of hypochlorite
If its US gallons 0.0024 * 378.541 = 0.908 gallons

Based off of calculations found in Chapter 8 of this textbook https://dr6j45jk9xcmk.cloudfront.net...sinfection.pdf

London Drugs donates $10,000 after two North Shore Rescue caches vandalized - BC | Globalnews.ca

I've been a loyal London Drugs customer since I started shopping at their first location on Main Street eons ago. Amazing history - almost as rich as the history of Vancouver itself.

As for the dumbass thieves, I hope they rot in hell. Selfish lowlifes.

That's the exact same equation, I just blew it up and added units since he said "grade 3 explanation". Which is good since you fucked up the units I bolded. If you take L of bleach per L of water and multiply by L of water, you get L of bleach, not gallons.

I fucked up too and didn't notice he said he needs gallons of hypochlorite, which makes it easier since you don't need to care which gallons since you can leave the volumes in gallons. Double check the density of hypochlorite you're using though.

D1V1 = D2V2
V2 = D1V1/D2
X = (120mg/L)*(100gal)/(55,500mg/L) ----- cancel units again
X = (120)*(100gal)/(55,500)
X = 0.216[repeating] gal of hypochlorite
