Anyone out there into CB radio? It's still popular south of the border, but not much up here. I just started getting into it, as in I have a CB installed and it works, LOL. When I am cross border shopping, I listen in on all these guys talking CB radio lingo on various channels. It's like being back in the 70's. "That's a negatory, 10-4 copy."

I have this 4 foot Wilson antenna installed on the fender of the truck now and I feel like a red neck...... even starting to talk with a twang.

You need a license for that and at my age, learning shit comes slow, LOL.

Most truckers, from what I've heard, have gone VHF up here in Canada.

Edit: OK, how hard is it to get a license? Is it like a C-Lai getting a driver's license? - "Just pay and you shall receive."

I hate taking tests..........

Metta World Peace doing the weather forecast for CTV Victoria. This guy needs to know our temperature is measured in Celsius!

I doubt that they would even know what it is. Just don't abuse it and you wont have a issue at all. I have a number of buddies who use them for 4x4ing and it's way better then CB

MG1 06-07-2012 01:19 PM

Dang, gotta get new antennas and shit. I even bought an SWR meter to adjust in the antenna....... I imagine it's not able to be used in VHF.

murd0c 06-07-2012 01:31 PM

there are tons of fourms out there you will be able to find tons on. Thats prob your best bet to find exactly what you want and will be able to do.

If a car has right side collission at 1900 dollars and a non collission report at 2,500 dollars, but was fixed properly and it was just cosmetic.

What could they be?

Those are should be minor accidents right?

Thanks for input

MG1 06-07-2012 04:34 PM

Is it just me, or does the above make absolutely no sense?

I'll borrow sonick's gif

On a newer car, a $1900 accident isn't big at all. Someone was probably just breathing too heavy next to the car or something..

so probably the other person didn't shoulder check before changing lane thus causes collision in result of dent and paint lost? $1900 sounds right for those cosmetic fixes?

Thanks!

Yeah.. seems like it. scuffs, repaint, new handle, new window could easily run into $1900. What car was it? BMW and MB like to rape people on parts cost, so there's no way a $1900 claim was much more than a ding/dent and paint loss.

Anyone in the neighbourhood of Boundary and Grandview before 9 pm? I drove past and there had to been at least 12 VPD and a car in the landscaping of Wendy's. Never seen that many for one call.

CP.AR 06-07-2012 10:45 PM

the Coastal class ships were built in Germany.
On it's way over it passed by London to promote Canada and the Olympics. (and to refuel and prep for the trip)

There's also this image of it crossing the panama canal

Cool! For some reason I always thought the ferries were made in Canada. I am surprised that it actually has the capacity of making trans-atlantic voyage. :D

Quote:

In Japan, there's a scary sight on a port in Isumi City of Chiba Prefecture. The ground has been covered by 200 tons of dead, rotting sardines and the ocean has been stained red with their blood. It looks like a beach from hell.

According to Japan Today, the rotting sardine beach started crashing onto the shore over the weekend and continued into this week. It's insane that there were so many sardines on the ground it looked like rocky sand. The smell from the sardines, as you can imagine, is god awful and cleanup projects have begun to bury the sardines in landfills. The scariest thing is that no one is sure why this is happening, some are saying it's a lack of oxygen, others are pointing to it as an omen for another disaster.
This Beach Is Made from the Blood and Bodies of 200 Tons of Dead Sardines
