Details on the setup, please.
Been looking at getting one but unsure of where to start. A lot of guys I'm on the track with are using sims during the off season and when the season starts, they are on their A game.

There's a new Chinatown Storytelling Center in Chinatown that's opened up that tells the story of Chinese Canadians and you can get free tickets to visit if you use code "METROTOWN2026" (valid till end of May).
Looks like a neat place to check out.

Full disclosure, I work in the industry so I'm jaded and bias. Good – $499
Logitech G923 – this is what kids play or when we were at arcade (minimal feedback). Easy entry level into Sim racing and just cool to play with. Better $1,264.99 I would go a bit higher end
Gran TurismoŽ DD Pro (5 Nm) Going to focus on bundles. Choose the platform you want to play. PS / PC etc. I don’t think people play Xbox much so make sure you choose the right one.
5 Nm = decent feedback on the wheel (no feedback on pedals). Best – Fanatec / Moza
ClubSport DD+ Ready2Race GT3 Bundle (15 Nm) https://www.fanatec.com/ca/en/p/sim-...le-for-xbox-us
15 Nm / 100% force feedback, you can break / spring your thumbs (not joking). You will get a work out feeling the shifts, engine and bumps on the road cutting apex corners, and you most likely won’t finish a lap ever (Traction Control / ABS turned off) without practicing for a solid week.
(note this is entry level - no pedal shift, no stick shift) - for fanatec / moza Cockpit
Most economical setup.
"Lawn chairs" setup, based on space etc, you get started here.
You got China brands – support 3 monitor setup – solid and legit, 20% cheaper
You got Fanatec who is king. Final thoughts
Ensure you get pedal shifting. 9 out of 10 cockpits i see are no stick and no clutch. I feel you won’t even use hand brake (unless rally) or stick shift (1-7)(just up / down)
Regardless, stay within your econ system. Things tend to fit better.
CPU nowadays - $5k (SSD + DRAM is crazy + GPU if you are to build now)
cockpit $2000
chair $500
Shifter - $300
pedals $500
wheel - porsche etc - $500
game - $30 on promo Assetto Corsa
monitors 49 inch - 1000 or triple monitor $1000
PC case mount 300
pc keyboard mount 300
mount to mount your pc mount 300 (yes, LOL).

I'll check to see if they exist in the GTA.

I believe they have a deal right now too on membership. https://www.instagram.com/axonsim/
If you haven't tried it yet, I would start with a monthly membership. It's often cheaper than a-la-carte, considering you need about 3-4 sessions (1 hr) to get used to it first if you've never tried it. Punch cards hold about 10 tokens, so you're burning nearly half on one day.

I'd also recommend doing a monthly membership and spend that month figuring out whether SIM racing is a hobby you'd like to pursue. I found it to be very different than just messing around in Gran Turismo. It is not arcade driving, and you'll need practice to get used to the way things feel in the SIM rig.
I suck at it despite giving it some amount of practice. The bigger issue for me is -- I get really bad motion sickness after a while. Some people say that's the initial norm until you get used to / figure out how not to get motion sick. I couldn't get over it in my limited amount of trying and I gave up (bcos I didn't like that feeling of wanting to puke, but somehow can't puke). Quote:

It's also 250+ lbs and it took me 3 weeks to throw out all the recycle boxes.
The game; is $30 on promo on steam - Assetto Corsa Ultimate is super cheap when on promo, they also have keys ($10 dollars?)etc.
Anyone on GTA who wants to try, there are places, just DM me. Just bring beer and you can try at my place.

Its crazy how much rigs has gotten to, when I got mine in 2008, it was $185 USD out the door and the dollar was almost on par back then.
I remember printing out the Google Map instructions and taped it to my dash....
The border didnt give me too much trouble either, considering I had scafolding sticking out the window loool

you know i got the g323 for series x and then a $120 stand and after a few weeks its' been collecting dust. assetto corza isn't the same feeling as ps3 gt5, maybe it's the car selection. i went and got xb1 version of forza motorsport 7? (the last one before current one) and it didn't feel the same either, i found the UI very clunky to start a race.
maybe i should try something on PC instead

I still do my weekly GT7 races on my Logitech setup and amazon mount/frame, +PSVR2. Still love it. And still blows me away everytime I fire it up.

I was hoping to get a sim setup to practice on my home track (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) in the off season, not to spend the equivalent of a running a real track car.
