Exactly. Every single person owns something built by Foxconn. Foxconn is being brought up because EndleSS88 said he only buys products from companies he "believes in" and wouldn't buy a VW (for example) because of their Nazi connections. He promptly got shit on for making such a dumb comment. He then lists products he owns and I pointed out that they were made by the same company that makes Apple products. Clearly he is a hypocrite. But since people here can't seem to figure out such a simple connection, then next time I'll make to to completely explain myself for the people who lack reading comprehension skills or fail to follow the chain of conversation in this thread instead of reading a single post and commenting.

I'm just a normal person who can view things and think critically about them.

If you love apple products, GREAT! Enjoy!

If you think Steve Jobs was a smart but flawed dude - WONDERFUL!

But it's the "APPLENESS" that is driving me fucking nuts. Not their products, not their dead CEO. The mentality that it produces among their "FANS". Not their "end users" - many apple end users - such as myself for instance - are just normal people that happen to use an apple product.

But their "FANS" who go on acting like morons, thinking of a dead CEO as some sort of martyr. I saw facebook updates where people said they were CRYING. What the fuck? And go to any Apple store, and you saw huge crowds of these idiots setting up a VIGIL for some billionaire who didn't give two fucks about them or anyone else, but made good products. :seriously:

I have seen these being called "Altars to Consumerism" and that is pretty spot on. But I think it goes beyond that. Because these people are not just mourning the loss of someone who convinced them to buy overpriced phones over and over for the past 5 years, signing long term expensive phone contracts in perpetuity, they are literally the worst example of consumerism you can possibly come up with.

And when someone tries to bring them back down to reality, they get all upset that we are "haters" and that we just "hate" apple and don't understand anything.

The whole thing is just a big mindfuck for me... :fulloffuck:

You get pissed off at labels, yet you stereotype and label Apple users all the time.

- I did not cry or shed a tear when Jobs died.
- I did not send a card or message.
- I did not post up on FB about what Steve meant to me or how he changed my life.
- I did not go out and put flowers or sticky notes on any Apple store.
- I did not go out and buy a bunch of Apple stuff to "support" Apple.

Yet you seem to imply that because I'm arguing in this thread that I did or am the same as the people who do.

You have hit it bang on. I couldn't have said it better myself. I used to think it was Apple that I hate but I've realized over the years, it's not the product and it's not the company, it's the ignorant people who follow and suck on Apple's dick.

I went into the Samsung Galaxy SII thread earlier today and people were talking about the SGS2 and the iPhone 4S. No one was BASHING on the phone, no one was shittying on it. For the most part, people were giving objective opinions weighing out the pros and cons for both devices. I rarely see that with these Apple fan boys. Apple Way or the Highway right?

There is nothing wrong being infatuated with a brand or showing support for it. But these die-hards are ready to go to WAR for Apple. It's a PRODUCT....Remember your role...You are a CONSUMER. Ignorance is a bliss and that is a mentality that surrounds Apple and their massive fan club. It's rather annoying but there's no escaping it.

HOWEVER, this thread is devoted for tribute to Steve Jobs. Someone decided it was appropriate to give a venue for people to pay tribute to him. That is perfectly fine. Whether you like Apple or dislike it, whether you're a fan boy or a hater; it doesn't really matter...It's a damn shame when cancer takes the life a person. Jobs has achieved a great deal in his life. Does it really affect me, don't really think so...but he was a human being with a family and his life was taken away by cancer. For that we can show some respect.

This thread has gone far off from that issue of respect and I think those who do not feel the same way should simply post in an iPhone thread as there are plenty of those on here rather than in here.

Interesting you brought up the GSII thread. I was just about to post that. As you mentioned, there are no Apple fanboys starting shit or posting stupid comments. In fact, this goes for numerous Android related threads in the Mobile Phone forum. Kinda proves people wrong for saying Apple fanboys are always starting shit, doesn't it?

However, things are different on the other side. There are people who can't resist starting shit in any Apple related thread on RS, this one included. Hell, even a mod (gee, I wonder who that was) edited the title of the "Iphone 5 and iOS5 Thread" and felt the need to add in "fuckthatshit" instead of simply renaming it to the "iPhone 5 (now 4S) and iOS 5 Thread". Seriously, how childish is that?

for fuck sake, I probably own way more Apple device and developed more app than you.

btw, I just brought 15 new macs, including a Mac Pro. Can you do the same?

I actually develop for both Android and iOS and am very familiar with programming/developing for both platforms. I dropped Android for iOS, not because of any flaw on Androids part but simply because I'm going where the money is.

However, I'm having a little bit of difficulty. Perhaps you'd like to create a new thread in the Computer forum for Android and iOS developers where we can discuss the finer points in developing with Java vs Objective C. I'm sure I could learn a lot from you.

You bought 15 MAC's? Is that so each one of your exotic cars can have their own dedicated MAC?

No. The mindfuck is why you even care. When all the crazy people cried and camped outside Michael Jackson's mansion when he died, nobody gave a fuck. People kinda just looked at them, and went meh. That's great. Michael changed your life, and thats fine.

And life went on.

Why bother even visiting this thread?

The guy fucking died, and people still bitching:fulloffuck:

Can't tell if stupid, or trolling. The guy had 338 patents to his name where he was the principal or cofounder. How many ideas have you had in your lifetime that was even worth submitting to a patent?

Again, why bother even visiting this thread?

Do you even read what I wrote or did you just jump to a conclusion and decide to ramble on with your defence mode on...Everything you questioned, I had already addressed...Why visit this thread? I already mentioned, it's a venue to pay tribute to a man who achieved a great deal in his life.

How many ideas have I patented? Why does that matter? Did I bash Jobs? Did I say anything derogatory in regards to him or Apple as a brand? I certainly don't see it anywhere in my post...

...Yet for some reason, you still decided to go defence mode and act as if I was attacking...Clearly, you are exactly one of those fan boys everyone is talking about. Why not take a breath, read a post, understand the context rather than mindlessly replying after the first sentence and assuming that you need to engage you attack mode.

then you should develop for Nokia/Symbian/Maemo using QT

get the QT API Map for iOS and port your apps over QT API Map iOS

since developers with apps on both OS's get 160% more downloads from the Nokia Store :) Bigger isn't always better: Nokia Ovi Store apps downloaded 160% more than iOS apps

:fullofwin: (i just increased your income)

When Symbian makes a tablet and sells millions of them then I might consider it. iPad completely dominates tablets right now. And I only have to develop for one device, not multiple devices with different chipsets, different options and even different screen resolutions. It's a simple decision based strictly on numbers, not emotions.

I don't know what's worse; christianity or the apple cult. :lol Nonetheless I'm starting to see some parallels emerge.

I am fucking mac user. Yes Jobs was innovative, props. done and done

The world lost an innovator and cutthroat business man.
Theres really nothing more than that.

The world lost the head of a cult following.

While the world mourns, im just happy that he developed products(iphone/ipad) in which being the tech guy in the family, can teach relatives how to use something and connect them to one another aside from just a phone line

I thank Jobs and Apple for helping me and my family connect from all over the world in more than just using a phone.

I use a mac by choice. If I could/have room for a PC, I would do it in a heartbeat so i can be forever alone with awesome video games...

Because Apple's following is close to being a religion :shhh:

On another note, the funny thing is though is that despite people calling Skinnypup a hater, I've seen him give props to apple products for things that deserve merit. But EQUALLY also criticizes them as well on aspects that he thinks warrants it.

The disconcerting part is that the criticism is EQUAL but for some reason I can't fathom why EQUAL criticism = hater. As in a taking anything from Apple's pedestal is blasphemy. Is it because he's poking holes at your personal justification of spending $1500 on an item who's performance is valued at 1/3 that? :D
