I hate frost... how to reduce/eliminate the amount of frost in the morning? I cant parked my car in the garage... I hate using the scraper... I was thinking, would a car cover work or will it get frozen onto the car? Would the car cover be usable in such cold weather or will it freeze up the cover and when you take it off the car, would it crack or something? I dont think using hot water would be a good idea, would it just freeze up again making it worse in a few minutes? |
Car cover works, or you could get an auto starter. My coworker bought some de-icer spray (made of alcohol) from Canadian tire and you don't need to scrape. |
i dont really want to idle my car for it to defrost my car.. This de-icer, does it harm the clear coat of the paint when it runs down??? If i install a car start, i would also get the alarm and what not.. not really ready to spend $400+ on my car yet... |

cardboard over the windshield works. |

cardboard?! then you have to take it off and put it in your yard or put it in your trunk? which i wouldnt do.. i rather just suck it up and scrape it. |
cardboard.. hmm.. i might give that a try... |

but im not really considering an alarm/starter anyways... i dont keep anything my car, except my insurance papers and a car charger... so i dont see why I need a car alarm... |
or find a large tree to park under |
You don't want to scraper, you don't want to use liquids, you don't want to install auto starter. Only solution: Cardboard. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xRFNBWST25...oard-boxes.jpg |

I dont mind buying the car cover, as Ive mention... |
They have just the remote starter without the alarms now that are $200-300 installed. Well, at least you have some options now, and no, de-icer won't hurt clearcoat as it's made from alcohol and they know it's going to be used in cars and don't want to get sued for damages. |
alcohol takes off any layers of wax and residue, thats y its used to prep a surface before a detailing job, itll make the clear coat very slightly haze looking |
lol how do you think people in ontario feel when they have freezing rain and then 60cm of on top. easiest and most thoughtless solution is just idling, frost isnt a big deal. |
if you can get large enough plastic wrap, what i used to do was wrap from one door to another. For example, start at passenger door, close the door on the plastic, bring it around the windshield to the driver side door and do the same thing. With plastic at least you can crumple it all up and it doesnt absorb water like cardboard. |

my neighbors already started the cardboard thing even though in the morning it's pretty much still just dew... |
i use the black garbage bags and tape them together to put them on the windshield. At least they'll store more easily in the trunk! |
