BACK!

ok...this was an ebay auction for a set of wheels/tires...seller was asking $1530USD.

i emailed him and asked if he'd take $1400 shipped to Blaine, WA.

he said yes. so he shipped them out monday from San Jose, CA and bam, they arrived at 11am at Blaine.

Drove down... paid Blaine Enterprises $40 ($10 per tire).

Went through Canada customs and declared value of $1400US verbally.

got a yellow declaration form...went inside...they did some currency adjustment and ended up paying $170 in taxes.

overall..wow..what a great deal..

so..what did i get???

pure sex 19" oem RDX chrome rims with dunlop 245/45/19 with TPMS and center caps ALL included.deal was insanely good!!!
...this will look smokin' on the RDX!

best part.. ALL BRAND NEW!!!

Not quite fan of chrome....but congratulate on your purchase!

What brand/model are the tires? Do you know if they are made in North America?
Sounds like you only paid 12% tax and got away without the 6% duty.

Sounds like u got dinged by another $132 for 6% duty.
Which comes to $396....roughly four hundred bucks.
Quite possibly, but oh wells, what are you going to do, buy them locally for $4k?

Glad to hear it all worked out! Boggles the mind how we pay almost 30-100% more for the same products in Canada when the dollar is pretty much at par

I've never ever paid duty at the border. Mostly they're too lazy to check/calculate it.

Stupid question.

But when paying your shipping company (ie. Point Robert / Blaine / etc)
If they charge you $8/tire. Is there a tax on this?

What's the rate of tax?
For example, I think Bellingham is 8.7%....and some other places in WA is 9.5%.

no tax if you accidentially left your wheels on the curb side of Marine Dr in Point Roberts, then a friend of yours on the Canadian side accidentially walked across the border, pick them up and walk back.

I should be picking some rims up next week by the Point Roberts crossing at TSB.
Will see if I get charged or not.
