This isn't normal society. They are run by the old boy's club.
Irregadless, he chose this career over the well being of the 40 some odd victims who are now, in addition to being poor, are now having to deal with being sexually assulted at such a young age. Fuck those people who say he did his job by informing his superiors and is therefore should be cleared of this scandal. By simply doing nothing, he helped a man molest countless others as a result.

Exactly. Which is why I'm wondering why McQueary didn't go straight to the cops, after first climbing into the shower to knock Sandusky out. Out of everyone involved, his responsibility was the greatest since he witnessed it firsthand.

Yet he still has his job and will be coaching this weekend.

If you were in Paterno's position, and you had already informed your superiors and it was swept under the rug, would you not feel compelled to take the next step and alert the authorities? If not, why would you keep quiet? To protect yourself? Your name, and the reputation of your program?
Paterno didn't witness anything McQueary witnessed something and then ignored it but decided on telling Paterno

- what did he actually tell Paterno? "i saw Sandusky raping a little kid!" or "I saw Sandusky doing something funny with one of the kids im not too comfortable with it"

How would you react to some hearsay? Okay seems serious.. maybe.. best I report it to the higher ups (obviously it must not be that serious or Mcqueary woulda called the cops) and let them sort it out

So the higher ups didn't do anything after their investigation... I guess its not as bad as i IMAGINED (since i didn't see anything).. back to work (hell maybe McQueary was lying)

I don't really think you can blame Paterno all that much at all but you can definitely lynch McQueary since he saw it happening and didn't even put a stop to it simply went and told someone else about it like it was gossip

"As the graduate assistant entered the locker doors, he was surprised to find the lights and showers on. He then heard, rhythmic, slapping sounds. He believed the sounds to be those of sexual activity. As the graduate assistant put his sneakers into his locker, he looked into the shower. He saw a naked boy, Victim 2, whose age he estimated to be 10 years old, with his hands up against the wall, being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky. The graduate assistant was shocked but noticed that Victim 2 and Sandusky saw him. The graduate assistant left immediately, distraught."

Some people deal with trauma differently.

As in this case, what he witnessed could be fore some, be mentally or emotionally shocking that it may have taken a while to mentally process (which he later reported).

Not saying that's what happened, but IS maybe an explanation why he didn't react on the spot.

US coach Jerry Sandusky guilty of Penn State sex abuse

Former US college football coach Jerry Sandusky has been found guilty of 45 out of 48 counts of child sex abuse.

Sandusky, 68, denied 48 counts of abusing 10 boys over 15 years. He is expected to appeal but could spend the rest of his life in prison.

The jury reached its verdict at the end of its second day of deliberations.

His arrest in November caused a scandal at Penn State University, Pennsylvania, that saw the president and legendary football coach Joe Paterno both fired.

The jury found the former coach not guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with Victim 2 and indecent assault of Victims 5 and 6.

After the verdict, Sandusky's bail was revoked and he was taken into custody in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
