Wish the exchange rate was a little better, but oh well.

With WA tax, it ended up being US$867. With exchange rate, will probably end up about CA$925. Hopefully I get waived through when bringing it back... but if not, oh well.

Any idea how much duty will be on the TV?

Thinking of buying it....

*Edit

5% + HST

Very rarely will you ever see a discount on Apple products. I've only seen a generous 10% discount on their products maybe twice in my lifetime.

That and the 10% you get at the moment is actually more than the education pricing you get. So this is technically a "bargain". Though iPads or anything other than their computing products don't get discounts.

What I'd recommend is making an account on newegg, they're restocking sporadically.. so you have to act really fast to check out. They're like restocking 1-3 every hour or something :/

Bought a 32" Samsung LCD TV (came with manual and remote but no box) one year ago with one year warranty. Bought it in Surrey and it still works fine.
