What's the best deal for a video card around $200? I'm thinking of upgrading from my 5750 :P

I have seen footage like this before...usually from a country in Africa...or parts of the Middle East, during war, famine, or after a natural disaster. It usually involves a bag of rice being tossed into a group of starving people....Rarely does it involve a $2 waffle maker and some ass crack.

The last time I saw this was in Vancouver at the DT Bay. The staff were throwing 2010 Olympic mittens on the table only being gobbled up by consumers.

The 5970 is a pretty sweet price, but beyond my budget. I guess I'll go for the 6870 or similar.

tool001 11-25-2011 01:46 PM

bought a blender (for mom) for $10 @ walmart. (online)
in am got email that they are back ordered, and if they cannont secure shipment in 10 days order would be canceled.

Gumby 11-25-2011 01:48 PM

So I just impulse-bought the 5970... any processor & motherboard suggestions?

We weren't really looking for anything, just wanted the experience. Both stuff mostly for our baby and went grocery shopping as we were there already anyways. It's just like boxing day here deal wise. If you miss the door crashers you missed out on any kind of good deal.

honestly i dont feel it's ever worth it anymore to go out and stand in line in the freezing cold...man that must be harsh on a 1 month old...

honestly if you want to get the value for your buck...hold on to that 5750 for 2-3 more months...new generation of video cards are just around the corner.

JesseBlue 11-25-2011 07:54 PM

All the retailers are in love with the perception of impulse buying...
Good grief...

We never stood outside to wait in line. By the time we got their, Bellis Fair was already open. The baby was probably the most comfortable out of everyone there, sleeping soundly in his bucket.
But yeah, will never go again unless we were actually after something
