Thank you ICBC

Some of you might of seen my earlier thread about my bumper flying off along with my front lip and left fog lights on the highway. It was probably due to something on the road. Still unsure of cause. Anyways I went to ICBC and had a nice conversation with the girl who seemed very nice and empathetic. Told her about everything that was done to the car and she even complimented it.

I got my quote today via email and surprisingly enough she included new fog lights and a new front lip along with everything else that'd i'd expect. I didn't think they would cover such modifications that didn't come stock with the car. Very pleasantly surprised !

No

jtrinh 11-24-2011 08:59 PM

How do they determine what parts are covered? Was it just based off what you told her or did you have to show some sort of proof? I suppose it has to be oem too?

GabAlmighty 11-24-2011 09:07 PM

Hmm, there's gotta be somethin else goin on... Do you two go to the backroom while you were there?

Berzerker 11-24-2011 09:11 PM

Is this a single vehicle at fault claim? Did your rates go up because of it? I can't see you getting off with simply paying a deductible and not having your insurance go up.

Berz out.

Djiban 11-24-2011 09:12 PM

Don't thank ICBC, thank her.

Nice car btw, DC5 represent!

greendb7 11-24-2011 09:13 PM

Something is missing.... ICBC being on the good end of a compliment is not possible.

JesseBlue 11-24-2011 09:13 PM

is she really a he?

Berzerker 11-24-2011 09:14 PM

Why did he call it an "accident"

Berz out.

TRDood 11-24-2011 10:21 PM

Did you claim under collision or comprehensive?

if it's for collision... then you will take your "thank you" later.

satek 11-24-2011 10:42 PM

Another cool story bro...

1exotic 11-24-2011 10:47 PM

bcrdukes 11-24-2011 10:49 PM

Kid, no such thing as a free lunch. :fuckthatshit:

Leopold Stotch 11-24-2011 11:09 PM

did you claim this as an accident?
it'd be hahrd pressed to believe that ICBC just ate it on this one and that you're not going to get a surcharge, sorry to but please correct me if i'm wrong.

Skyline350gt 11-24-2011 11:27 PM

lol sounds like his insurance is going up... thats why they like the quickies
did they ask you if you wanted to do an engine swap while they are at it??

:seriously: i wouldnt trust ICBC to be nice and fair..

iamed 11-25-2011 06:53 AM

Pretty sure its a single vehicle claim, did you get a quote on how much it was to fix?

I'm thinking the same. They'll do the $600 in repairs and then his insurance goes up and it ends up costing him 5 times that over the next 4 years.

Then again years ago my 3 month old cars paint, windshield, foglights and headlights got fucked up from rocks and sand on the Coq during a ski trip. ICBC painted my whole car, new foglights, headlight and windshield. $300 Comp deductable and my insurance stayed the same so maybe he got lucky?

I highly doubt he will get lucky. He didn't even know what happened and even said there's nothing on the road that's out of the ordinary. ICBC has no one to go after for the damages therefore it will be deemed a one-vehicle accident with the driver being 100% at-fault.

TjAlmeida 11-25-2011 12:34 PM

Who cares.
Good for you on getting what you wanted, hope they don't fuck you up the but later down the road.
