Yeah I think 8-10g in one dose might be too much. At the least, it will make you tingle like mad if you're a BA noob

intense back day today, warmed up deadlifts, then did 325 x 1 new pr, then 275 for 2 sets of 5, and 250 for 10

r.i.p back

Is it true that deadlifting will stunt a teen's (age 16 to 18) growth?
I keep getting mixed answers from all over the internet and from my friends

Broscience, before it used to be if squats stunted growth

Anyway killed my SS workout today, having eight hours of sleep really makes a difference. Finally got to 7 wide-grip pull ups I add a rep every single time I go to beat my previous. My callouses starting to hurt though fuuuuck. Might start wearing my gloves again for some exercises.

Been working on my bench form and gripping that bar tight as fuck makes a huge difference. Need to improve on valsalva breathing though.

Just a reminder to everyone to watch your technique on deadlifts and to not be dumb about injuries.

I tried to squeeze one last rep out a couple of days ago when I was tired and didn't keep my back tight. Mistake #1.

Two days later, thought, I'm fine, let's do some squats. Went with only 60% of my 1RM so again, wasn't paying enough attention because it was "light" and I could do it easy. Didn't keep my core tight and just fucked around. Mistake #2.

Result, I'm pretty sure I have a herniated disk and I've spent the last two days in excruciating pain. I likely put my gym progress back at least a month.

How do you exactly tell if you have a herniated disk?

Chiropractor can look at your spine with some sort of scanner machine. (ultrasound?)

If it was herniated, you probably wouldn't be walking at all. Probably bulging or just inflamed. Go to a doctor (a real one, not a chiropractor) and get it checked out if it hurts a lot, IMO

They all refer to the same thing really - bulging disk, slipped disk, etc.

http://www.spine-health.com/conditio...e-bulging-disc

I did see a doctor - not much you can do there. Take some ibuprofen and rest. The shitty thing is that once it happens, it easier for it to happen again so I'm going to have to drop the weights way the fuck down when I get back into the gym to focus on form. Perhaps not such a bad thing.

Going to do icing too to get the inflammation down. Eff it's so annoying.

If you absolutely want to cut down as quickly as possible, do a PSMF - protein sparing modified fast. Consume 1.0 g/lb+ body weight and eat nothing but leafy vegetables. It'll be totally miserable, but that's how you could do it.

The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook by Lyle McDonald | BodyRecomposition - The Home of Lyle McDonald

A saner approach would be to do something like Lyle McDonald's Ultimate diet which consists of 4-5 days of low cal, high protein coupled with glycogen depletion workouts (high rep, lower weight) followed by a carb-ups for a strength day.

The Ultimate Diet 2.0 by Lyle McDonald | BodyRecomposition - The Home of Lyle McDonald

The most sustainable approach (imo), is carb cycling + carb backloading. On rest days, eat under maintenance with high protein, high fat. Because you're eating under maintenance, you'll lose fat. On workout days, high protein, high carb. You want to minimize fat on these days so it doesn't get stored as fat.

Listen to your body when u diet, if u eat nothing but leafy greens and protein your going to turn into a skinny figure.
There are all types of diet when it comes to dieting, I have been dieting for about 4 months now and it has been the best diet so far. I am not depleted and lack energy. I still eat carbs and enjoy good food but I limit myself. Most ppl want to diet and get super low body fat but most ppl don't have the mussel mass to do that and being that low body fat and living day to day is just not practicle,

I started with just cleanin up my diet and going from there, gradually lower calories, I made the mistake 2 years ago by eating no carbs and I went to waste

Dieting takes a while and you got lots of time so don't panic if u r not 5% body fat like alpha was

Holy fuck Alpha is funny, total keyboard body builder status. I give him props for actually posting his pic, but damn was the softest muscle-less back I've seen in this thread.
