Had another RS member PM me that they are interested in joining the team.

I think I will have special RS volunteer car decals made up and give them out to the people who volunteer to be designated drivers. All I need is approval from exec or mod to use RS logo to get it done, as I know someone who makes car decals.

Sweet! When is the official start if Operation Red Nose?

Too soon, junior comes to mind, atm. We have, at this point in time, four volunteers.

If we had more, we can start this weekend.

Are you going to be available this weekend? I still have to do XMas shopping.

Having said that, our call to duty would be into the wee hours of the night. I dunno....... definitely not Boxing Day (night before). I'm gonna be lining up for the sales, LOL

dr.funk 12-14-2011 01:44 PM

Dido on the shopping, with me just holler and i shall be there.

Ditto or dildo :troll:

Alright. I think we can do this. We will aim for this weekend. Tachy has agreed to be the dispatcher. I guess he will subscribe to this thread and call me if and when we are needed to spring into action.

dr.funk, BaBiE_Bee, LSF22, we ready to do this? PM tachy and me your cell number and he will call us when someone needs a ride. Send me your schedule (when you are available). I don't think anyone will need a ride at 9 or 10 at night. It will be more like 2 in the morning or later. as long as it's not during a Canucks game, I'm ready to go any night. I've warned the wife already of my plans and assured her that I'm not having an affair, LOL. She said, "Just don't bring home any diseases." <------- standard answer.

Tachy, we OK with this?

I'm working on gettting custom window decals made for the volunteer drivers. Not sure what to put on them. Not sure if Operation Red Nose is OK to use, as it is probably copyrighted or something. Suggestions?

EDIT: if someone on RS wants to volunteer for their area, let's say Surrey only, and we have a member who wants to go home to Surrey from DT Vancouver, we can do a relay type thing, where we drive person and their car to the outskirts of New West or Coquitlam and they get driven the rest of the way....... hope that made sense. Again, this is first time we are doing this. No matter what, we will not leave any RS member stranded.

CharlieH 12-15-2011 09:47 PM

lol such a nice guy. should use mg1's face for future "good guy greg" memes.

CorneringArtist 12-15-2011 09:51 PM

I wish I had a Christmas break, I would be completely up for covering Surrey. Unfortunately, as one of the lowest people in my company totem pole, no breaks for me :okay:.

Thanks, but..........

Not in it for recognition............. would like to keep it low key.

Rather than lying on the couch shaking my head after reading about another tragedy, I'd rather do something proactive - no matter how small or big the inconvenience.

dr.funk said it best...........

Then everybody will be tripping out so badly LOL

You mean more like I have 21 PM's from you, LOL.

I am waiting for the other two to reply and then we will be set to go. I have two way radios, btw, as well as, hands free.

Perhaps, if it is possible with the others, we can meet somewhere at a central location the first night (Friday night) and hang out waiting for Tachy's Bat Signal, hee hee..........

I shaved off the beard and trimmed the stache. At nearly a foot long it was getting a little too much.

The beard has since grown back, again, but only a couple of inches long. The grey is taking over and it's all wiry.

I hate shaving.......... not good wth the blade anymore. :)

MG1 12-16-2011 04:52 PM

Back on track. We are on for tonight and the rest of the weekend.

I will be available later on tonight and so will dr.funk and LSF22. BaBiE_Bee PM'd me and told me she had plans for this weekend but will be available next weekend and probably weekdays, if duty calls.

Hopefully people won't abuse the service. When you do need the services for real, please send PM to Tachy or post in this thread (he will check it via subscription). Make sure to give as much info as possible. Type of car, whether it is standard or auto, if you are by yourself, where you are atm (duh), and where home is. As far as I know, I'm probably the only one who can drive a standard. we will travel in pairs. If you don't have a vehicle and need a ride home, please let us know that right away.

Don't PM any of the drivers/volunteers. Get in contact with Tachy. He is our dispatcher. He will call me on my cell. If it is 3 in the morning, I will most likely be asleep. If you guys recall, I suffer from sleep paralysis, so I don't sleep for long periods of time. i power nap. Tachy, on the other hand, never sleeps, so he is like the best dispatcher, LOL.

By Tachy, I'm referring to Tachycardia!, one of the mods on RS.

El Bastardo 12-16-2011 04:54 PM

Also, if you're at the bar and don't have data to make a post on the forum, text me.

edited which spells edited. Vulgar, I know, but now you won't have trouble remembering my number. I'd rather offend a few of you than to have one of you get in an accident.

Let me know the details of where you're at and I'll pass the information along to the driving team.

dbaz 12-16-2011 05:17 PM

its true tachys number is very easy to remember. if you say cock countdown you will more than likely remember it.

Not really racist! 12-16-2011 05:56 PM

^ :lol

fliptuner 12-17-2011 01:07 AM

Just got home from GF's Christmas dinner. Tons of roadblocks from DT to Coq.

I hope everyone made it home OK and anyone who needed help, got it. Be safe out there guys, the next 3 weekends are going to be killer for drunk drivers and roadblocks.
