These are the proper ones for Store.

$190 for the now discontinued gopro HD in pretty basic trim isn't even a good deal compared to a while back when a bunch of RS'ers got the motorsports edition for $200 USD. There's the hero 2 now, haven't really looked into it yet but I have the one that's on sale for boxing day and that leaves a lot to be desired :(

lowda9 12-21-2011 06:58 AM

dam $200 for the dynex 32" tv at future shop.

Saw a commercial for The Brick last night.. Sony/Samsung (can't remember) 40" LCD 1080p for $300. If someone finds a flyer, might be worth it to look into. =|

Jsunu 12-21-2011 08:21 AM

edit: shit missed it lol

cctw 12-21-2011 08:43 AM

^in store flyers are already out as well..there are separate threads for in store and online for both bestbuy and futureshop

optiblue 12-21-2011 11:50 AM

Shoot, $50 off a $650 LED TV. Doesn't even seem like a boxing sale.

nah man.. you dont want a dynex anything...

Lomac 12-21-2011 11:33 PM

Boxing Day deals seem to be getting worse and worse every year.

Either that, or since prices tend to drop year after year, there's just so much you can trim off the sale price before it ends up not being worth every store's while.

twitchyzero 12-22-2011 12:34 AM

a combination of slow economy and black friday us online sales being more accessible to canadians

i read an article outlining how best buy in the US made super thin margins to tackle amazon.com this quarter...even worse than 99 cent store from a % perspective.

shenmecar 12-22-2011 01:12 PM

The hell, staples sell xbox and ps3??

Gridlock 12-22-2011 01:13 PM

It makes sense. Think about some of the regular prices for "regular" tvs. I'm seeing 40"-50" tv's for $1000 in any given flyer, any given week. That's retardly cheap for a regular sale on any given weekend.

There is no margin left in computers...can't see any in tv's, and they lost cd's and dvd's.

They can only cut so much.

gwh0803 12-22-2011 03:59 PM

aiming to get new laptop at either NCIX or memoryexpress.....

Gh0stRider 12-22-2011 06:50 PM

the tv sales dont look that good.

The margins are with all the accessories now. But even those are going away. People are buying less of the monster cables - and even realising that $20 for a vga cable is still a ripoff.

RRxtar 12-22-2011 07:50 PM

For some things like TVs its not that the boxing day price is shit its the regular price has come down so much the boxing day price isnt that big of a discount anymore

for example (numbers out of my ass)
4 years ago a 46" LCD TV was like $1800 regularly and on boxing day was $1000
now that same level of TV is like $1200 regularly and on boxing day its $900

That combined with some places really putting stuff on hard sales quite often thru the year (Canadian Tire often puts good stuff on for 70% off), it makes the boxing day sales watered down.

There are some deals out there like half price speakers and accessories but it seems most deals now are just blowing out old stock even more than they were before.
