Shoot, $50 off a $650 LED TV. Doesn't even seem like a boxing sale. Posted via RS Mobile |

Boxing Day deals seem to be getting worse and worse every year. Either that, or since prices tend to drop year after year, there's just so much you can trim off the sale price before it ends up not being worth every store's while. |
a combination of slow economy and black friday us online sales being more accessible to canadians i read an article outlining how best buy in the US made super thin margins to tackle amazon.com this quarter...even worse than 99 cent store from a % perspective. |
The hell, staples sell xbox and ps3?? |
It makes sense. Think about some of the regular prices for "regular" tvs. I'm seeing 40"-50" tv's for $1000 in any given flyer, any given week. That's retardly cheap for a regular sale on any given weekend. There is no margin left in computers...can't see any in tv's, and they lost cd's and dvd's. They can only cut so much. |
aiming to get new laptop at either NCIX or memoryexpress..... |
the tv sales dont look that good. |

For some things like TVs its not that the boxing day price is shit its the regular price has come down so much the boxing day price isnt that big of a discount anymore for example (numbers out of my ass) 4 years ago a 46" LCD TV was like $1800 regularly and on boxing day was $1000 now that same level of TV is like $1200 regularly and on boxing day its $900 That combined with some places really putting stuff on hard sales quite often thru the year (Canadian Tire often puts good stuff on for 70% off), it makes the boxing day sales watered down. There are some deals out there like half price speakers and accessories but it seems most deals now are just blowing out old stock even more than they were before. |
