Ya stumbled upon that, but I think i might go with the z2300 as I see the average price on that on craigs is lower than buying a sp2500... Both don't have mids either way buy Ill assume the z2300 is better
Any opinions?

I agree the SP2500s are very good, they are just slightly overpriced IMO. If you're looking for 2.1 speakers for gaming, I'd go for these. If you're looking for speakers to listen to music or watch movies mostly, go for S330D.

Still both very good speakers and can't go wrong with either.

The Z623 is on sale at staples for $89 .. cheaper than boxing day!..

Tried to PM at BestBuy.. cause I have a gift card.. but they gave some bs about how staples is selling it in limited quality...

Online is all gone, only 2 left at Bridgeport staples when I got mine.!

I have the Z5500....I only use 2 speakers though. They're decent speakers for gaming and movies. The sub is pretty overkill for everyday use I find. Mind you I don't crank it up loud at all. They lack mids because the speakers are small. But again if you're looking for audiophile sound you won't be able to get it from any satellite speaker I've ever encountered.

Realistically I'd go studio monitors and a 8" sub if I had the budget.

i got the z623 speakers for 91$ after tax. price matched it perfectly without an issue !

overall the treble is not that great. and there are no tweeters, so basically the whole system is bass-heavy

i would suggest S550 set, i've tested those out and they're actually really good quality. or get the Z906 ( kinda expensive though)

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's still get the nod from me, if not Audio-Engine A2's.

Thats good!
They pointed to some letter saying limited quantity .. on the other side of the page for another item.. I told them the website show it was in stock, but they said the flyer say is limited quantity ... didnt want to argue with them..

Yeah is really really bass heavy.. too much for me.
Will refund it tomorrow.

I'm looking around for 2.0/2.1 desktop setup too!!
I had these before moving to a Lars&Ivan bobo to match my Mac.

They are one of the best 2.1 setup for computer on the market. The sound is very smooth with perhaps lacking a bit on low (the sub just isn't big enough for me when I listen to hiphop). But excellent setup for its price.

Bought the z623 set the other day. You guys are right about it not being very good for music. However, I just finished watching Bad Boys 2 and Gamer and, man... these are fan-fucking-tastic for action movies. Barely had the subwoofer past the mid point and you could hear it outside the house.

So... gaming and movies, it's great. If you're just into music, look elsewhere.
