If there is no proof it could be some guy throwing a tantrum and just saying that to the media to make some sort of news.

He could just be pissed and started screaming bullshit infront of D&G.

Unless there is full proof I wouldn't buy this story people make news all the time.

If they didn't D&G would have apologized by now. They only stated that their security guard said something wrong but didn't officially apologize for everything.

winson604 01-09-2012 10:52 AM

Didn't some lawyers or something In Hong Kong also state that there is no law there to prevent people of taking photos as long as your on City Property. I mean it's not like they walked into the store and took pics they are just standing outside on Canton Road. Meh

Ronin 01-09-2012 11:15 AM

Wait so only certain people can take pictures or is everyone banned from doing so?

Drow 01-09-2012 11:29 AM

I just came back from there this holiday season. Stayed at the Marco Polo right where this action takes place. Canton Rd was ridiculous! 30 Mainlanders per line up per name brand store. I was gonna buy some Ferragamos but if I'm spending $700CAD I want someone to lick my dick while I shop, not herd me like cattle.

niu99 01-09-2012 12:57 PM

On 8 Jan 2012, local newspapers reported that the rationale behind the photo 'ban' was not about protecting intellectual property rights of the brand but to prevent wealthy government officials from Mainland China from being photographed, as the brand's goods should be too expensive for their salaries as government officials, which may lead to accusation of bribery by anti-corruption authorities in China.

Eh? hong kong, FOB, mainlander? WTF is the difference isn't it all CHINALAND? Is this a case of Richmond rage I am confused...

achiam 01-09-2012 01:29 PM

Semi off topic, but is this the same road where the Filipino nannies/maids etc sit down to have lunch on Sundays? Also, why do the Filipino house staff start holding their weekly lunch at those streets -- was it an Occupy-type reason?

rsx 01-09-2012 01:36 PM

Couple of dudes dropping brand names...don't recognize any of them :fuckyea: I'm poor.

It's Mainlander rage. They're the "noveau riche" aka new money, and they believe that their wealth can buy them class. Too bad it doesn't.

So the Mainlander part China is raging that the Hongy FOB portion of China is too classy is this what it's about? Also Hongy China D&G is excluding themselves from picture taking and so it's raging at itself? Thought it was "HK" china that was raging can someone straighten this out? Who is doing the rage?

Harvey Specter 01-09-2012 02:11 PM

No that's in Central, this happened over at the Kowloon side.

Sky_High 01-09-2012 02:54 PM

Semi off-topic,

But what's the legality of taking photos inside the shop?

If this were a thread about Agnes b for example, which is much cheaper, I would have replied the same way, and you idiot would have responded differently without all the hate.

Check out the fashion forum, a lot of people spend a lot on clothes such as dolce as well like Jah Gekko, back then when I posted there.

I see no reason to say that you bought a D&G jacket for over 10,000 hkd and claim you are not in the least bragging about. Not to mention listing your location as mid-levels hk, as if you need to tell people your well off. Fucking idiot. I should list my location as the peak.

D&G makes fucking shitty ass clothes too btw. Have fun with your jacket.

This mainland honger thing is just like the Surrey Delta thing. Delta is just across the street from Surrey but if you tell them that's Surrey all hell breaks lose.

Service @ Lane Crawford was amazing when they first opened in CWB. I remember going inside (this was when I was 12), one of the gentleman in the suits section (obviously I had no intention of buying one) gave me a quick 15 minute lecture on how to shop for a suit even though I was just browsing the whole store (their rounded escalators drew me into the store).

I went there last summer and it felt like I was stuck inside a fancy Walmart on Black Friday. :heckno:

IMASA 01-09-2012 04:32 PM

The thing with mainlanders in HK is the same thing that that we went through with hongers in the GVRD.
