I wish I could take her.. I've always wanted a husky.
I've also heard they're quite the handful.. But I'm sure they can be tamed.. Posted via RS Mobile |

Please tell your friend to contact a huskey rescue society. They may be willing to take the dog from the SPCA and put it into one of their own foster homes.

Love these dogs, yet as others have pointed out they are a handful. My brother had one when we lived in the country, which was good cause these dogs need room to run - when left alone they howl and it can be heard from a long way away - definitely not suited for urban Vancouver.

Oh man... heart breaking. There are a lot of dog lovers here on RS, someone PLEASE step up!!
As most of you know, I just adopted a puppy giving me a total of 3 dogs at home. I would love to assist in training this dog to whomever decides to adopt her! ALSO, OP:
If you seriously have no alternative, you can probably bring the dog to the Richmond Animal Shelter. They are a no-kill shelter and will take care of the dog until they can find a suitable owner. 12071 No. 5 Rd Richmond, BC V7A 4E9

let me make clear that this is not my dog and i am trying to get the word out to help her find a home. i would love a husky, however, i already have two dogs and 2 cats and not enough room for a third pup or the time that will be needed to care for her |

I'm at the shelter right now and my gf and I were considering adopting her. The manager of the shelter then became very curious and asked my gf and I to go into her office. They wondered how we found out and I told them about this thread and they said the info for Robin's adoption is also on Facebook and it is false. Dogs at the shelter will not be euphanized at all. In fact the shelter does not euphanize any pets. The shelter has been receiving phone calls from people complaining that they euphanize when they don't. All dogs stay until they get adopted. The shelter is upset about the wrong information being passed around.
On a good note, there are two applications for Robin! One is being processed and Robin should be going to a new home in the next few days! Another application is a backup in case the first one doesn't go through.
She's a cute one and I'm glad she's going to a good home! :] Posted via RS Mobile |

i am glad she is going to be finding a home and that they dont put down dogs.

Weird, I thought adopting a dog from the SPCA or any shelter was free.
But, I guess it makes sense as these places need to make money to stay a float.

They were actually quite upset about people spreading the wrong image for the shelter. Not trying to offend OP but OP's source was not accurate according to the shelter. They were worried people would no longer adopt pets from or drop off strays to them because of the wrong image being spread. Hope we don't have the wrong idea! Posted via RS Mobile |

Adopt or buy directly from a breeder, most often puppies at pet stores are sourced from puppy mills.

Going to the pet store is my least favorite activity as a lot of them are clearly unhealthy due to inbreeding or the living conditions . I was just wondering what happens to them later on, because if they do get euthanized it becomes a little bit of a catch 22? Posted via RS Mobile |

I wouldn't recommend going to check her out because the shelter isnt happy with the amount of people asking about her. Or if youre serious about adoption you can just walk in through the main doors and go straight down to the hallway to the back garden sort of thing and the door will say "To Dogs". You don't really need to check in with anyone to view the dogs
