Just do a system restore. It's very easy to do.

iirc OEM keys for windows don't work with plain-jane off the shelf Win7 disks. I've tried this to no avail (perhaps I did something wrong), so I ended up giving up on the OEM key.

Plus formatting with different versions of windows would require new disks, be it from a torrent or from retail.

Not sure if this'll help, but if you happen to know a UBC Computer Science student, they have access to the disk images for Win7 Pro. tbh you can just walk in and get it yourself, if you know where to look.

Given the effort required, just do a system restore.

My first solution would be to stop using Windows Media Player. I hate it almost as much as I hate iTunes. It's horrible, uses up waay too many resources and it plays videos badly.

Download something like VLC - if there are certain video formats it won't play - find players for those specific formats (like RMVB - I don't think VLC plays that).

Online videos, it's hard to say - You need to send us a site as an example - sometimes it's just a bad connection - sometimes it's the flash plugin that's screwing up. If you're watching youtube - and you let the video load all the way, then play and it's still choppy, then you probably have some sort of issue - either with a driver or maybe something running in the background hogging up resources.

Flash websites are sometimes horribly written. I've noticed it before - I'd have a million tabs open, and it just starts chopping up - then I'll go into task manager and notice that firefox is eating up over 1gb of ram, which is just insane for "browsing the web".

and just to add, there's no issue using OEM windows - you just need to uninstall all the crapware/bloatware that may have come with it. no need to do a clean install of windows.

I've deleted most things that came pre-loaded with this computer. I also have good internet. I can manage almost up to 2mb/sec download sometimes by my Telus network.
I haven't been keeping things up to date that's why its all laggy. I'll start off with some junk and registry cleaner or PC tuneup. I think this should do but I'll start from this.

thanks for the tips.

i would say, check for Virus, Adware and what not.. then update drivers..
then get a system utility and check the condition of your hardware, maybe something is dieing in your tower?
run the Error-Check on your HDD..

In fact macs are so shitty, we are now getting rid of them all at work, in replacement of PCs.

No sane person would have a mac at home, and only people who are retarded get virus' and spam on their PC's,

I havent reformated my pc in 3 years since I built it, and I've never gotten virus, and I run no protection except the router firewall.

Dont want to turn this into a mac vs pc debate, but the only argument you people use is "no viruses",

stop trying to download free porn and opening love emails and you wont get virus' on PC's either,

or perhaps you like the OSX interface? if thats really the case, you can install OSX on a PC.

or perhaps you like paying 2 grand for an apple logo? if so all the power to you, il still fail you everytime for trying to promote a shitty product,

I will admit though they do look cool and sleek, thats what attracts the general consumer.
Windows PC will only have a virus IF you download some stupid software you aren't supposed to go to websites you that may contain malware.

Anyways, haven't reformatted my Windows computer in 2 years. No need.

i'd make another partition of the files you need and do a clean install of the partition where you installed windows then move the files back over or keep a seperate partition then you'd be good to go with all the OEM registrys and hidden files gone

I hate Macs for one reason. Their price.

on the OS side, its really up to user preference. I never had problems on my W7 and certainly no viruses in the last 10 years.

Macs and Apple
i have 5 brand of laptops in my household
asus, gateway, hp, apple, samsung

the mac book pro is the only one that died and it costs so much to get a new mobo. it was out of warranty but it wasnt the oldest out of the bunch.
hence again my hate for it comes because of the price.
(its my bros mac)

If apple didnt price it higher then they would be just "another computer" lol...
plus they would make a lot less from all these apple fan boys/girls
