Not always true. Last time I went down I had a guy about my age and he sent me in for a car search. Thankfully nothing was taken apart like I've heard. The lady who was searching it was pretty awesome. I totally forgot I had my blown tire in my trunk and she questioned that and we had a little laugh

It seems very odd to me that majority of gas prices can go up 5c/L in a single day as soon as any bad news comes out of the middle east. When we hear good news, they say it takes weeks for any savings to be seen at the pump. Then, we see the NIGHTLY 3-5c/L drop in price which goes back up to regular day time prices by midnight. This does not happen outside of the lower mainland as far as I've heard. Prices in Alberta, Ontario, stay fairly consistent overall.

In the past year and a half gas has gone up 6 cents a liter in Calgary.. its $1.08 a liter

yes actually i pay less money to gas up than my friend in a Honda Fit... but i have A LOT more fun :awwyeah:

falcon 03-04-2012 02:37 AM

Its all an illusion. If you look at tank size VS. L/KM it's not nearly as good as you think.

tegz 03-04-2012 06:37 AM

:( My 848 gets less km's per litre than my civic... but my old gixxer was really good on gas

46_valentinor 03-04-2012 05:31 PM

i wanna get myself a bike again because of the high gas prices.....my 07 r6 was getting about 7.5-7.9L/100k whereas my s2000 is getting like 13L/100k.....T____T
edit: actually, i think its just an excuse im giving to myself to encourage myself to get a bike again LOL

My 04 kawasaki ninja 636 gets the same mileage as my 05 mazda 3 gt. So there is only savings if your car isn't fuel efficient. Another option is get a 250cc or scooter.

With a nexus pass I too used to go to the states for gas. Until you realize how many xrays your getting without realizing it.

Is that why I get a woody every time I cross the border? j/k

I gather this is only for Nexus lineups.

Every car gets xrayed; it says so when you're in the waiting area queued up behind the guy who's getting interviewed then.

Conversion should be done for those of us not metrically inclined :p

It's 3.97g in Blaine so like 1.05/l
That's more worth it for those of us closeby

Divide by 4 for rough estimate, as 4 quarts = 1 gallon and 1 quart is pretty close to 1 litre.

The real measurement is, 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres.

$1.08 a litre. Since USD and CAD is same, exchange rate will make the gas approximately $1.10/litre.

Abbotsford gas is around $1.29/litre. 20¢ difference
Burnaby gas is around $1.46/litre. 36¢ difference

I always use websites like

http://www.bcgasprices.com/

http://www.washingtongasprices.com/

I used to use gastips.com and contributed often, but they started going downhill....... lots of idiots reporting wrong info.

BTW, lineups were long today. So many people going across the border to get gas.

That is really odd. Usually, Sumas prices are lower than Blaine.

I miss Imprerial measurement. I can still remember the day Canada went metric. Frick, it was hard to get used to. Calculating in metric is thousand times better than with Imperial, of course, but when everything used to be measured one way, it was hard to change over.

Or just remember the magic number "264"

Take the US Gallon price and X 0.264 and you should get roughly $x / L
