skylinergtr 03-06-2012 09:17 AM

hopefully it wont go much higher than it is currently at $1.36, which isnt that bad.

i might have 3 V8 cars this summer... fml.

its funny, now that we have seen > 1.41, $1.36 is considered "not that bad"

hope weather gets warmer quickly so i can insure/ride bike to work.

Am I the only one who remembers the $1.6x-1.7x for 94 oct. of 2007/2008?

UFO 03-06-2012 03:28 PM

yeah, that was THE peak of gas prices. I think it maxed out at 1.51/L of regular, but oil prices were significantly higher back then too. Being 1.41/L a week ago in only Feb and oil being relatively cheap, there was and still may be definite risk of it surpassing the previous high this coming summer.

Going to be an expensive summer in the Mustang... But still worth every penny.

Z3guy 03-06-2012 03:52 PM

if gas went to $10/l......I would still drive allot.....way too much enjoyment.....

Maybe more. Because then you'd only try and go for a drive when the conditions are perfect and head straight for the driving roads. You'd take out your car far less often, and the less you get to see your car the more you enjoy it when you do.

There'd probably be a lot less traffic too, I'm looking forward to that.

Lol,,... the good old days.

I remember when they were in the $0.7x's/L but thats it. And that would have been early/mid 90's.

Benz_05TSX 03-15-2012 11:56 AM

Guess no turbo or supercharge! Stick to my good old 4 banger JDM

MG1 03-15-2012 01:09 PM

I was at Costco Bellingham yesterday. $3.949 / gallon. Saw this one Canadian filling up four jerry cans. Bastard's gonna bring down the heat on the rest of us. So many people bringing across mulitple number of jerry cans.

Cheapest I can remember was maybe when I was about 5-7 years old.
I was in car with my mom in a big line of cars waiting to fill up with gas @ 33.5 cents a liter.

Duff Beer 03-16-2012 03:07 AM

Just filled up gas and car needed premium so it was $1.55/ltr tonight. Fuck I feel like I'm driving a truck these days..and it's only a 2.3L :sweetjesus:

Firmware 03-16-2012 03:10 AM

Already paying 1.50/ltr..

how much waste can it get..

:accepted:....

falcon 03-16-2012 05:18 AM

This is the main reason I had my car tuned on 91. I can hop across the border and fill up for cheap... :accepted:

That being said, when I come home I am buying an old 80's motorcycle and building another cafe racer. That will be my summer transportation if the gas prices keep going up.

Death2Theft 03-16-2012 08:17 AM

At this rate you can expect to pay 1.75 before any war on iran happens.

Death2Theft 03-16-2012 08:18 AM

80's motorcycles come with tight pants, mandatory!

Filled up this morning at Sumas. It was $4.239 / gallon.

On the way back, my car that was chosen at random to be checked. Lady told me to park it and she walked around. Opened the rear door and saw the jerry can. She told me, "Just a heads up, gas jerry cans are subject to tax." I wonder if it's the way things are going to be from now on.

spyker 04-02-2012 08:49 AM

Fucking bullshit 2 cent raise in gas tax,how convenient for the government to implement it on April fools day,I and the rest of the lowermainland don't find that shit funny one fucking bit.
