One of the possibilities with the 'jump/spike' some are seeing with smart meter reporting. It's possible that the manual readers were doing a crap ass job, or maybe not reporting at all in some cases, and BC Hydro had been undercharging as a result. Now that the Smart Meters are reporting consistently and regularly, the true electricity use is being billed giving the impression that clients are being overcharged. How one verifies whether this is happening or not, I have no idea. |
