Today is supposed to be the "Cover the Night" event. Various Kony 2012 FB pages are quiet. If Vancouver is going to do it, there will be 7 people there, and they won't even be the organizers, because they realized the bullshit.

:fuckthatshit:

surreyjack604 04-20-2012 12:02 PM

im glad this shit failed the US needs to find a new way to invade innocent countries and steal their resources. no more bullshit propaganda.

Cover the Night fizzles in Vancouver - News1130

Cover the Night fizzles in Vancouver
It was supposed to be the culmination of action against Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - It was a YouTube video that has been seen by some 80 million people around the world, and was to come to a head in a night of action.

"All of these efforts will culminate on one day: April 20, when we 'cover the night.' This is the day we will meet at sundown and blanket every street in every city," says the Kony 2012 video which went viral soon after it was posted in early March.

But it seems the event called Cover the City, meant to draw attention to Ugandan warload Joseph Kony, was a non-event, at least in downtown Vancouver.

The Vancouver Facebook page tells its 21,000 members that big groups should gather at the Art Gallery or at the Olympic cauldron.

But Friday night, no Cover the Night campaigners could be spotted in either location, and just a handful of posters had been pasted in the downtown core.

Students at SFU and UBC were to launch their own campaigns.

It remains to be seen if there were any large turnouts in other Canadian cities. In Hamilton only about 20 people showed up and there has been no major Twitter buzz about the event elsewhere.

The movement has encountered controversy in the States over its charity, Invisible Children, and the conduct of filmmaker Jason Russell.

And Vancouver's downtown was already occupied by marijuana buffs Friday night. As one tweet says, 'I was gonna stop Kony, but then I got high.'

Phozy 04-21-2012 04:20 PM

LOL, "I was going to stop kony, but then I got high"

Andd that shows a lot. If they still go on ahead and go to uganda, then its proven its for a bullshit cause, if its not been proven already.

stewie 04-21-2012 04:51 PM

some fag put those stupid posters all the way up my fucking street.....

Graeme S 04-21-2012 06:27 PM

There was a poster for Kony at the eastbound park royal bus loop.

But then, there was also a poster saying that smart meters cause cancer, kill bees and will destroy kids' minds.

Silly white people

1990TSI 04-21-2012 10:35 PM
