I'm almost sure that would be different today. Comparing the US army during the Vietnam War and today, that shit was the stone age. But given what we know about the war in the Middle East, the Americans have far superior resources and still lose personel every day. Kony's army is about 200 people according to the Globe and Mail. They'd get wiped out by Seal Team 6 overnight. |

this is straight stupid. Get a hobby. |
basically posted this on my facebook "it's a post-apocalyptic Armageddon with child soldiers smoking heroin, cross dressing cannibals, systematic rape, it's hell on earth" Vice Guide To Liberia, and you think donating $20 for Kony is gonna help?!? LOL |
I personally believe as a teenager that all the backlash KONY 2012 is getting is seriously harmful, not just to invisible children and this campaign, but just as importantly the kids in the MED's who wanted to help. I think it says a lot about the people who support this campaign by tweeting, reblogging and sharing. It says that the normal ordinary person does actually care and wants to help out the rest of the world. It seems that majority of people who support KONY 2012 are teenagers (How Teenagers Learned To Hate Joseph Kony : NPR). I think even if there is something wrong with the whole campaign, the teenagers and people who support it had noble intentions, something that should be praised. For a while it seemed as if even a seemingly insignificant Western teenager had an actual influence in the World, that we had a say in justice. All this backlash is telling those very supporters and teenagers, that they CAN'T help the World, that no matter their good intentions, there is always a conspiracy or a voice that tells us why we can't or why we shouldn't make an effort because we don't understand the whole situation. |
it's a dose of reality Kony 2012 is what the INTERNET is/has become people so easilly fooled they frivolously expend money/time on a cause that their impact is microscopic, the problems in the world cannot be solved simply by money and good intentions if people had general good intentions instead of jumping on a bandwagon they would be much better off donating locally or even nationally to women's shelters, food banks, etc |
Nah op was watching sons of anarchy, just so happens in the last ep that the cia is "in bed" ( this is how they say it ) with galindo cartel. Posted via RS Mobile |
