It would be interesting; both locations are good, but it would be nice to have them altogether.

I don't like this. Even if 1 location gets packed I prefer it that way. Plus I never need to find parking as my gym is right there and I can walk over

I always end up taking transit to the night market. Not too keen on wasting away the night on finding parking. Plus, traffic is absolutely nuts, don't want anyone slamming into me.

I had a stall last year, and I'll tell you this. I feel like one of them is gonna bomb, and it probably is going to be the one further away from RR. Simply put, there is just not enough people going to these that will keep both of them sustainable. Also, that group treats their vendors like crap.

Was the original one Night Market THAT busy that they feel DOUBLING the size would be beneficial?... I personally have only went on Sundays so I don't know how packed it truly is ... seems like the "better" one is gonna pull everyone there ... the verdict will be out within a couple weeks of opening ...

Yes they open on the 18th

their website

Richmond Night Market 2012 | We're Back with a Brand New Location!

The other nightmarket website
http://www.summernightmarket.com/main/default.asp

you will notice, their time of operation is different on for Sunday. The New Nightmarket starts at 6PM (1hour ahead of the one at Home depot). Both closes at 11

While their Monday to Saturday Time is the same

-wonder if the stage acts for entertainment will be better at the night market next to River Rock than the Home Depot location.

The RR location has a huge draw being situated near the skytrain. I can see a lot of people going to that one instead based on that alone. Hell I would simply to avoid the parking hell at the summer night market.

I believe the one near River Rock will get a lot of attention, but that being said, knowing there is going to be popular, its going to be very jam packed and crowded which I dislike walking while someone has a hand on your back, pushing you forward. Also family bring their strollers, sometimes you get clipped and Grandmas walking like ants!

I will still visit the one near Home Depot.

Btw anyone know anything about the Downtown Main Street Night Market???

I know you should stay clear of it. The Chinatown one is hella bunk it's like half a block of stalls which mostly suck.

DT one is one street side of crap, not worth the trip down to china town unless you are going to grab food there or get accosted by hobos.

The Vancouver Chinatown one will either be gone in a few years or turn into a Western/Caucasian nightmarket given the demographic/business changes in the area
