RR won't be affected in a negative way, if anything the night market will attract more people to RR. Very tempting to go play at RR after shopping/eating at the night market...

"We have put in 100-per-cent free parking and we have also hired a professional traffic company to monitor the traffic. They will be helping to make sure the traffic isn't backed up."

You know what would be awesome? If they end up getting the food trucks to set up stalls! And they probably will probably draw more mainstream visitors.

I don't work or live downtown so I never have a chance to try any of the food trucks, it would be awesome for them to set up a location at the night market for sad people like me to try their food.

I'm not sure how well the food trucks would do at the Night Market because their prices and cuisine very much appeal to the downtown office crowd. (I.e. Not cheap Asians looking for a deal)

On the few occasions I've been to the Richmond Night Market, the non-Asian food vendors have always had significantly less traffic around their booths compared to the Asian stands which is unfortunate. Then again, when I go to the Night Market, I want my steamed dumplings and meat on sticks.

The night market (the organizers and customers) will benefit from a diversity of foods and stalls. Who really needs 6 stalls selling fake shark fin soup or steamed rice rolls? One or two = ok, 6 = not ok. It'll also bring in some positive press (not the Chinese people only BS we hear about)

A lot of those food vendors often have a food court stall somewhere? Don't see it any different than a food truck-operated stall. If anything, they get more utilization out of their trucks.

The original NightMarket

the RICHMOND NIGHT MARKET will find success depending on how they run the place...simple as that. TOO MANY PROMISES to vendors could ultimately bring them down again
