Bro canadian tire, tire repair kit

- kT 03-25-2012 11:38 AM

i want it fixed right, from the inside. my tire still has quite a bit of thread life and i don't want a diy plug failing on me

I've used them in the past. They can come to your house too.
Road Runners Dial A Tire - The Lower Mainland's Only Mobile Tire Service and Sales

^ how are their prices? i could always go to canadian tire but they want to charge me $70 for a fucking patch so i'm leaving that to the last resort

skiiipi 03-25-2012 11:44 AM

Try Kal-Tire at Sears Richmond
I believe they open Sundays
If not...Canadian Tire

- kT 03-25-2012 11:46 AM

^ negative, called them already. all kal tires are closed on sundays. same with ok tire, abs tire, midas, budget brake + muffler, etc :(

canadian tire is open but they want to charge me $70 so i'm playing my cards to see if i have any other options

johnb 03-25-2012 11:48 AM

price varies from size of wheel/tire so i'd suggest giving them a call. $70 from ct for a patch seems a little much.

bing 03-25-2012 11:49 AM

I was quoted $26 for a plug and patch at Kal tire a week ago, so $70 seems really high.

MG1 03-25-2012 11:50 AM

Costco, if you or a friend has a Costco card.

Edit: 19's on low profile........ OK, maybe Costco isn't the place to go, LOL.

Try roadrunners they are mobile..

godwin 03-25-2012 11:57 AM

Why is it expensive? They have to dismount your big ass tire and patch from the inside, mount and balance.. Shop time is expensive..AND you want it be done on a Sunday.

try calling Jack at Road Runners mobile repair for a quote, they come to you. I have called him to buy used tires once, but not for a plug & patch so don't know his pricing.

worth a try since he does 24/7 road side assistance.

kal tire quoted me $20 and ended up doing it for free for me last time this happened. same car, same wheels. so no, it's expensive because their prices are high

called roadrunners and left a callback number. i imagine it won't be much cheaper than cdn tire because they're mobile though?

- kT 03-25-2012 12:16 PM

^ called and left a callback number. i imagine it's going to be pretty high up there too though, given that it's mobile?

godwin 03-25-2012 12:23 PM

But is Kal Tire open on Sunday? NO!

CT is providing a commodity that no one else can provide, yet you covet.. It is called supply and demand.

If you're so hung up on that extra $50 just wait until tomorrow and ride transit for a day or better yet find a buddy to hook up a ride

- kT 03-25-2012 12:40 PM

^ if i had time on any weekday in the near future i would. self explanatory

i just called CT again, they quoted me $89 after i gave them all my wheel and tire specs

so one final shot: anywhere else?

bing 03-25-2012 12:42 PM

^Its possible. Not sure if his prices are negotiable but if he calls you back see if he can beat Canadian tire to get your business as a first time customer.

shenmecar 03-25-2012 12:43 PM

DIY? Its really, really simple. All you need to buy is a plug kit at Canadian Tire

- kT 03-25-2012 01:01 PM

the tire still has plenty of thread so i want it fixed from the inside. Don't want a diy plug screwing up on me in the future

also cdn tire has quoted me $89. Roadrunners quoted me almost $100 for tomorrow. fuck life

Get a DIY plug for temporary fix until you can actually find the cheapest shop to patch it. It won't be screwing you up in the future, don't see how it would.
