is cell standby 24% really high? My screen is at 36% with about 40% brightness

Maybe you have a bunch of unused functions/applications open at a time that's making it drain like nuts (like wi-fi, bluetooth, etc)? On my phone I always leave power-saving on, regardless of battery power

I've had this phone since release, I upgraded from an s2. No complaints at all yet. As good of a battery life as my s2, if not better.

Currently using this case and I love it, protects the screen well, and its a replacement to the battery cover so that won't get damaged. Still looking to get an otterbox for when I work in the warehouse.

you can always get 2 extra batteries with a charger on amazon for about 20 bucks and you won't ever have to worry about battery life.

gives you access to the system file of the phone and you can edit or install custom rom on the phone

if I don't change to custom rom I can still do factory update for firmware right

^ You'll need to install quick pic and set your wallpaper from there. You also won't get a zoomed in image.

i bought mine outright from rogers. i don't see why you can't. i called rogers directly (not an authorized dealer) regarding the device reservation system and they said that you there's no fine print stating that you can't purchase it outright.

edit: nvm, just realized you're with fido. by the way, if you go on the rogers site and select the s3, you can select the phone only no-term option on the dropdown menu and add it to the cart. not sure if you need a rogers account, but give it a shot.

I wonder if it's a Samsung Engrish thing. Because the Google updates have that fixed.

is there an option to just turn on auto correct but disable word prediction? that sh!t is driving me nuts.. or is there any other recommendation aside from the stock samsung keyboard?

i tried to use quick pic and set it as homescreen wallpaper. it still won't let me scroll on the wallpaper left to right and it just made the crop area bigger only :(
