How Much Does Your Doctor Make?

I remember this was posted a couple years back but I'm sure everyone would like to know how much money their doctor made last year.

I don't have a family doctor so I can't tell you how much mine made :alone:

Mine made $320,064.96 :eek5:

But he's one hell of a doctor though. I only have to visit him once usually and he "fixes" the problem :fuckyea:

Note this is how much they billed MSP, it isn't take home income (i.e. doesn't cover their overhead), but at the same time I don't believe insurance/WCB amounts are included.

my specialist is slowly creeping towards a 7-figure income
no wonder he's always joking around and dresses like he's on vacation

Quite a bit for somebody who just tells you to rest more, drink more water, and take whatever the fuck pills he prescribes you.

But the man will write you a Doctors note for anything. As long as you tell him exactly what you want written.

XplicitLuder 04-01-2012 12:33 PM

it's a shame quite a few people in the general public think this way about their physicians

Dr. Cat Phan -$490 000!
He's my family doctor working at walk-in clinic on kingsway.
Gawd dayum I knew he made a killing sitting on his ass prescribing Tylenol and antibiotics all day.

Do family doctors get cap at how many patients they see a day? Cause I know mine sees like a 50+

dyan 04-01-2012 02:04 PM

^
Yeah they do.. i THINK it's something like 40-50 patients/day.

Wykydtron 04-01-2012 02:15 PM

They get a cap at how many patients the gov't will pay for. The gov't pays a certain amount till a certain #, then a smaller amount till like 50. That is only for the basic walk-in/visit covered by msp. Then factor in how doctors offices charge for notes, exams, physicals etc. And some work at hospitals, and/or own some of the walk in clinics around (my family doctor owns a walk in). Plus then ICBC and WCB claims, I'm going to assume they can charge more for stuff. So really, I can see it adding up with a good doctor who has their roots solidified in the community. But if anyone deserves to make $300K/year, it's someone who studied and worked their ass off in med school, and continue to work hard, sometimes having to take cases and files home to work on until they can make a solid patient base.
