Still lots of teaching time and info could be absorbed if you could only be there until lunch time. Definitely not ideal, but still good!

Are there any more AutoX coming up aside from VCMC and UBCSCC? I want to attend a 1 day AutoX before trackday on 7/12. Thank you.

Unfortunately it looks like you're right. Had a great time at the Porsche Club Event on the weekend and there is a corvette club event this Saurday July 14th.

+ 1 for learning in stock cars. I believe shocks are still a free mod in stock class, so some serious competitors get re-valved konis etc to decrease body roll w/o changing springs.

if you learn to push your car to the limit as stock, your skill will go up because you're forced to be a smooth driver. then as you get more skill, add one mod at a time, then you can see what actually makes things faster (or slower) and you'll have a greater appreciation for each mod.

Ill be there, just got some Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs on the Corolla. Excited to try them out and see how good they are..

And now it is even easier to be competitive with the Road Tire class! Stock classes still use race tires, but now you can show up with a good set of street tires and have awesome competition!!!

Don't forget the rear swaybar for FWD cars. Turns the understeering pigs into not so understeering pigs. :okay:

+1 for learning to be smooth driving a stock car first.

Just be advised that in addition to the 92db rule, there is also a strict TIRE noise rule in effect. All-season tires do tend to squeal like pigs when driven at the limit, so be prepared to dial back your aggressiveness if you show up on crappy tires and start over-driving your car!

Rear Swaybars won't be legal in Stock Classes though, so I would think about that before putting one in - especially if you're interested in staying in Stock.

But definitely - it's one of the best mods for a non-sports car.

It is legal for 2012.
Check out the 32 mm bar I have on the back of the ITR. I think I spend more time on 3 tires than I do on the gas. :okay:

Matsuda 07-24-2012 03:32 PM

I have a 32mm bar on my Mazda too yay!

For Novices, a VCMC track day is one of the only opportunities to receive 1 on 1 instruction, with professional corner workers manning the course. Lunch is also included with your entry fee. Passing zones are open to all Novices as well.
