Wrapped lamborghini at auto show..

i just went to the car show, and i noticed the "chrome" wrapped lamborghini,it looked... less than perfect.I asked the guy there how much it costs to wrap a car like that, he said 17,000$......

i noticed quite a few imperfections, bubbles, rips and stretch marks, which, for a 17k wrap should not be visible. I used to wrap cars and i KNOW that the 3M wrap they used costs 1400$, + instalation which i know most shops charge 2,000$ - 4,000$ and they will do a flawless job, not like these guys.

yeah i saw that one to my brother and i thought it looked like straight shit!

Wow, what a good samaritan, I'm so thankful people like you exist.

I saw the lamborghini as well, it looked unbelievable, the wrap took it to another level. Thoughts started racing through my mind about how amazing my Civic would look wrapped, I mean, people would probably be mistaking it for an exotic and posting it in the Sick Cars in Vancouver thread. I asked the person at the booth approximately how much it would cost to wrap my Civic, when I heard $17,000, I nearly broke down. My dreams were crushed, I left the auto show a broken man, drove off in my Civic with nothing but factory paint. Now, you've taken the time to inform me it can be done for $1400, rekindling my dream. Just wait everyone, I'll post pics of my chrome wrapped Civic soon.

Jsunu 04-09-2012 01:42 PM

Didn't look good in person at all. Kinda looked like a car that was wrapped in tin foil :/

bluejays 04-09-2012 01:46 PM

The guy was telling my dad that it took 70+ hours to complete the wrap as well

Szeto 04-09-2012 01:47 PM

^ that looked better than the one at AutoShow.

if it helps, after i finished wrapping my car, i went to McDonalds downtown, with a table that overlooked where my car was parked and i saw groups of people taking pictures of themselves with the car, or just the car by itself... the kicker... there was a Aston DB9 behind me, noone noticed it. THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR BUYING A GREY SUPERCAR

someone should get a quote from mm design on how much they charge for a red/gold chrome lambo :troll:

TRDood 04-09-2012 02:09 PM

The plate says "BULLRUN" for the chrome lambo at the Autoshow.

E-40six 04-09-2012 02:21 PM

Owner of that Lambo owns an Aventador as well I think. He's the guy that organized the Canadian Bullrun

im not saying it doesnt loog good, its a lamborghini, it would look good wrapped in bird poop. My point is that its a shitty job for too much money. And i also know from experience that wrapping something chrome will not give you the desired effect. Wrap chrome is not real chrome, it looks like very uneven and it feels cheap to the touch.

BossFrancis 04-09-2012 03:01 PM

Isn't that the one from the auto show? It was in an article about it.

bbpping 04-09-2012 03:04 PM

Yes you'd know about shitty wrap jobs wouldn't you? or are you here to "troll" again?

The pictures were being taken to post here:

A truly impressive car doesn't need an obnoxious cheap brightly coloured vinyl wrap to stand out and looking stunning, the Aston is a perfect example. It projects elegance, class and performance without over embellishment.

Case in point, the Bond DB5. Subtle silver paint is infinitely better than cheap matte blue saran wrap.
