That said, Supreme Pizza on Victoria & 49th, the BEST pizza in town, and great price for what u get. Small hole in the wall pizza joint that looks like, well a hole in the friggin wall. Hasn't changed since 1983. No website, no twitter or FB, heck you can't even find a menu online. I've talked to "uncle" a few times about letting me throw something up for him, but he doesn't care. They crazy busy.

Try it, I assure you it will be in your top 3 pizza's ever eaten.

Another Neapolitan pizza place opened up recently on Commercial across the street from Marcello:

Famoso Neapolitan
Edmonton Calgary Pizza Wine Gelato Restaurant | Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria

They're originally based in Alberta. Anyone try?

westopher 04-29-2012 10:34 PM

Famoso is good, I ate it quite a bit when I was in edmonton. It doesn't compare to nicli, pizzeria farina or pizzeria barbarella though.

have you guys tried Neighbours pizza? It was featured on the food network..looked really good.

I've had the double cheese pizza there a few times - quite good (I like the chewiness of the dough/crust and the base sauce) but proportionately pricier. A large is actually a large here if I recall :)

Flying wedge aint that great.

Place is legit, don't bother with any other establishment on commercial

Commercial? sweet I live there, gonna have to check it out. I was surprised when I found out Uncle Fatih's was rated top by numerous review sites. Everytime I go there I'm disappointed. I'd rather eat a frozen pizza to be honest.

So where's the best pizza these days? Going out for dinner with some friends tomorrow and we are looking for the best pizza joint in the lower mainland. Where's the best pizza around these days??

If you like thin crust, Goldie's at the corner of Pender and Seymour downtown makes a GREAT pizza. I had one last night, mmm.. 9/10 (once I added chill flakes, 10/10)

maksimizer 12-20-2013 09:28 AM

MegaByte. Pizza.

What about outside of Vancouver? I hate going DT this time of year.

Steveston Pizza....not sure if its been mentioned yet
but i love their pizza
Welcome to www.stevestonpizza.com

Not sure if the best but you could try Nicli Antica Pizzeria in Gastown. They're one of those brick-oven style pizza joints.

My personal favourite would be Trilussa along Main St. It's a small joint but the pizza there is amazing and its cheap too!

Ali Baba Pizza - Located in Victoria, British Columbia Canada they have a location at the tsawwassen ferry terminal. Huge chunks of meat on there pizza. 1 slice has has enough toppings for 3 slices of regular chain store pizza.

Pacifico Pizza

Pacifico Pizza Restaurant & Cafe | Downtown Vancouver, BC

I was recently there and the pizza is pretty good. I tried the Vesuvio and Sicilian, it was tasty.

970 Smithe Street
Vancouver BC, V6Z0A4
604 408 0808

Hours of Operation

Monday 11am - 11pm
Tuesday 11am - 11pm
Wednesday 11am - 11pm
Thursday 11am - 11pm
Friday 11am - 12am
Saturday 12pm - 12am
Sunday 12pm - 11pm

They do take out as well but I think eating in is much better. The quality doesn't seem the same for some odd reason, maybe the Chef who cooked my meal wasn't into it the day my food wasn't as top notch as it normally is.

bcrdukes 12-21-2013 08:04 PM

Not super amazing or jaw dropping, but my local favourites are:
  • Ragazzi Pizza - No nonsense here. Humble Neapolitan style pizza. Not full service, but a dine-in option is available. They service mostly the neighbourhood with take-out and delivery in the Renfrew Heights area.
  • Via Tevere - Apparently owned by the same owner as Ragazzi Pizza, but this is on Victoria Drive. A full service dine-in restaurant with bar and other Italian classic items on the menu. Be prepared for a wait. There is a heated waiting area outside. Street parking (residential.)

Both aren't in the downtown core if that means anything to you. Some may argue that there are better pizzerias but for me, it's personal preference.
