Forget about driving. I'm happy if my Mini even starts. :lol Speaking of which, the Mini is leaking like a bitch. |
|
^ is that for your ass ? |
The guy with the Land Rover is sure to be oil leak expert "Your rear main seal is leaking? That's cute... my seals are leaking.. all of them... main, minor, window, you name it... even the ones that don't have any liquids near them... somehow they're also leaking" |
hey, its built in corrosion inhibiter https://i.imgur.com/JYLWwpI.jpeg bare metal underneath atf and dirt |
Mmm...delicious. :drool Got my Boxster back from Mantis Autosport. Had to get new coil packs as the ones in the car are likely original and totally cracked. :okay: Oil changed to Mobil 1 0W40. I normally run Motul 5W40 but found some Mobil 1 on sale for cheap and decided to save the Motul for another season. I also switched over to Millers transmission oil. Waaaaaay smoother than factory transmission fluid. The hype is real. Brakes - switched over to Hawk DTC-70. Initially, no impressions until I held on to it, and then the loud squeal happened as to be expected on a track/race pad. Fresh flush of Motul RBF600 too. Battery was now 8 years old and failed a load test, so that had to be replaced. Did a compression and leak down test for peace of mind and came back with the results: Cylinder 1- 8% -160psi Cylinder 2- 10% - 155psi Cylinder 3- 10% - 150psi Cylinder 4- 9% - 150psi Cylinder 5- 9% - 150psi Cylinder 6- 8% - 145psi Car hasn't been driven in a while so hopefully the numbers even out a bit more throughout the season, but I'm not expecting much change. Numbers are all within spec, so all is well. Gotta redline the motor more and give the fanboys a heart attack. The most interesting change was the switch from the Koni Special Active shocks on H&R lowering springs to MCS coilovers. Initial impression is the car is much more planted to the ground, and shock/rebound really showcases the chassis a lot more, and control is a lot smoother. Granted, I only drove from the shop back home in bumper to bumper Toronto traffic, so I'm looking forward to the next track weekend in August. Unfortunately, I got COVID, so I decided to bow out of this weekend's track weekend with the local PCA group. :okay: |
That’s like the cleanest boxster I’ve ever seen of that vintage. Props for driving a true Porsche classic and for making sure it didn’t blow the fuck up. Also props for actually tracking the damn thing and not hiding it underneath a dust cover with the occasional cars and coffee run |

The little cubby for the door handle is excellent. Not sure why VW elected to leave that as just a grab handle. Now I can store wallet / phone on the side The gap filler between the seats and the center console is a must for me. I’ve dropped my phone a million times into that slot and it always pisses me off The whole shabang was less than 20 dollars shipped. |
If it's a cubby, it's going to collect dirt and be impossible to clean. And then there's Ford https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport...der_after_all/ |
You can just pop It out to clean. Chinese craftsmanship at its finest. |
It's prob made of lead |
Well I can’t get any dumber so I think I’m safe. |

You might as well try it. Honestly I’ve bought a lot of garbage from aliexpress and it’s usually pretty decent. Some things are hit and miss but you pay for what you get for the most part. Also their dispute function is hardcore. I’ve gotten either 50 to 90% off for minor dissatisfactions. |

You should wrap your car with it |

Oh man I really want that Simpson’s house. I don’t know why I didn’t buy it before (probably cuz we didn’t have space to display it). Now I might need to buy a Sinapsons house instead. Instead of Homer it’ll have Wong ping with a wok cashing little ping around trying to murder him. |
It’s really risky business buying unknown cheap fabric if you’re paying someone to reupholster something. Next thing you know it fades or tears the next day |

Speaking of upholstery, does anyone have recommendations to rewrap suede? I have a suede trim piece that has damage and needs to be rewrapped. |
Suede needs to be glued I think? |
