Installed a Cusco rear shock tower brace on the Miata yesterday. I cut up too much of the trunk carpeting and now I really regret not reading the instructions beforehand. I think it still turned out looking okay though.

Can you feel this one though like the front subframe braces?

I went for a long driver after install and I my answer would be yes, but to much less of a degree than the overall improvement the front subframe/shock tower braces made. I can feel that the rear feels more "solid" over rough pavement but outside of that I don't notice anything else. I would be happy with less flex and reduced NVH if nothing else.
So i picked up this shitbox because of GS8, i was originally supposto install my supercharger for the C7, but thats been on the backburner ever since this POS took up the lift space.
Photo heavy dump, spoilers incase anyone is still using dialup
Spoiler!
It has 12,000kms, look at how god dam shiny these fobs are, for being 35 years old.
The major issue with this car? Previous owner took it to the mechanic, and i guess the repair estimate was not pretty. I dont blame them, i probably spent about 8hrs removing the failed NPT fitting, grinding out the remainders, then re tapping it.
Why did it take me 8 hrs to re thread a fitting? Take a look at the god dam location. Probably 4" of space infront, not to mention its in a "well". 1/8" turns with the tap x 300.
Lucky me, i didnt crack the block, and the threads came out decent.
New steel fitting went in, some hoes, and some thread sealant for good ruck.
Next day: the car ran without overheating and gushing like niagra falls!
Rust.... oh rust.....
Only one thing to do, grind it off (as much as i can at least), chemically clean it, etch it, coat it.
God dam that stuff smelled good, think my IQ went from 28 to 25 after huffing those fumes.
The paint: well, it sure as shit did not look like a car with 12,000kms, more like 200,000kms.
Did a hand polish to find if its worth doing the whole car:
Oh yes.... yes,, YES
Should have left the lighting the same so you could see the difference better
There was only 1 spot of trim that was chewed away by the sun:
Solution? use rona paint on it obviously.
Orange peel? Hell yes, i wanted to make badhobz proud.
Its only an illusion anyways, looks ok for 40$ in non-shiny angles.
Engine bay was looking a little sad
Should have taken my time with the drill wire brush, hit the manifold a few times, nothing a little dirt coverup cant fix. Painted the accent, looks alot better.
I also caked everything that was rusted with rust converter, cleaned up all plastics and polished under the hood paint.
You guys remember that ugly ass fender thats kinked out?
Not sure if the wheels look better or worse than before honestly
Bonus!
Previous owner was using pliers to open the hood lol, replaced the pull with a new one.
Lastly i dont think i ever posted photos of the interior after cleaning, check this out, almost showroom condition
I got new brakes, belt, and some other stuff showing up hopefully friday. Then i can start on the C7.
Got crack? i do.
First time since moving in i have two cars in the garage, enough space to move around too
[url=https://flic.kr/p/2rwCHh1]
So this POS, after repairing the coolant leaks, i got it driving, only to find out it has several heat soak issues.
Pulled injectors,
Spoiler!
c7 ptsd
most of them ohmed out poorly.
Purchased new ones, installed after nearly a day of diagnostics and messing around.
ONLY to find out the new injectors run worse than the old ones. How is this possible!?!?!?!
Surely i missed something on re install. Went over the car several times, nope, nothing missing.
Only thing left was to re install old injectors and see what happens. Did that, old injectors run just as bad as new ones.
Pulled plugs, plugs ohm all over the place despite looking "ok".
Purchased and swapped plugs, with old injectors, car runs good when cold.
Round 3, swapped injectors back to new ones.
And the car is good to go! Starts, and runs way better than ever!
For some reason the AC was not working, little surprise for me
Took it for a 30 min drive, ran good up until the last 10 mins, mother fucker started bogging, AGAIN
Who wants to guess what is heat soaking now?

It sounds like some sensor starts sending bad readings once it warms up. That kind of thing is always a pain to troubleshoot but maybe get it hot and try unplugging things and see what has no effect on how it runs?
Also consider pulling the ECU and opening it up. I know absolutely nothing about those cars but in Toyotas from that era the capacitors have started to leak or dry out due to age and cause problems for people.

Man, this brought back memories.
My dad's first car upon moving to Canada was a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix which was pretty much the sister car to this.
Same V6 engine as well, which I did a ton of wrenching on when I was younger. Was always bemused at how slow it was for such displacement (~140hp stock I believe?)

I installed an upgraded Progress Tech rear sway bar today. The install was easy and straightforward as many RSB installs are. You can see how thin the factory RSB (black) is compared to the Progress one. What was surprising was how much flex the stock RSB has vs the new one, which has little to none.
If you are only doing the rear bar, I'd be concerned about making the car too tail happy.

Try doing the front
On my MS3, doing the front means dropping the front subframe. Not sure if that's the case with a ND.
Yes to both! The Progress kit comes with front and rear sways. I watched all the FSB installs on YouTube and realized the front sway bar install is way more work than I would like to do myself so it's getting installed by a shop on Monday.
