It's evident you are a staunch left-wing supporter.

I don't like teachers unions, because I believe they are more detrimental to students than beneficial. They enable negative behaviour in teachers, because with enough seniority they can get away with anything. I just happen to not feel teachers are in the wrong for refusing to dedicate voluntary time to running extra-circular activities, and believe it would be difficult to base wages on a performance scale for a skill that is difficult to quantify mathematically.

On the topic of special needs.
I obviously do not agree with what the teacher did or how she acts in front of her students. That is pretty messed up.
Though, from working with children with special needs I can see how you can get comfortable around them and I can also understand the frustrations that come with the job.
I'm glad I watched this as i'm going to make sure this summer when I work with special needs children I am extra careful now and make sure I don't fall prey to these types of behaviours.
I've worked with autistic children that are completely out of control and do not listen and are just a pain to work with. But, it has never crossed my mind to call them names or make fun of them. I just get frustrated. This teacher is pretty messed up for acting the way she does.

In before the ninja edit... Quote:
I started working fairly young and never held the typical burger flipping type position, so by 20 I had more work experience than most people my age (No, I'm not a drop out). Before I became a foreman; I was the first person at the yard every morning, I never missed work, I never turned down overtime, I was clean shaven and didn't wear beat to hell construction clothes. I worked harder than every other person on the site, I was more organized, and I always watched/studied what the person at the position above me did so when I was given the opportunity to do it myself I almost had it figured out already. I was the ideal employee and young. Being among a group of young construction workers who couldn't show up to work and old guys who were still helpers at 45 for a reason only made me look better. A position opened up for a temporary lower level foreman since someone was taking a long vacation, I got it, I rocked it, contractors were requesting only my crew come to jobs. So, when the top level foreman position opened up, I was given the opportunity over guys with a lot more experience than me. I did a better job, so I was the best candidate...

Looks like a left-winger, sounds like a left-winger, walks like a right-winger...?
Well I bet they're glad to have you. Someone has to actually do some work over there once in a while.
If you're not just a master of rhetoric, it's kind of a sad story for me - a tale of a seemingly capable, ambitious person, throwing in the towel. |

I was severely injured in an accident at work and never healed enough to go back into the construction. If the accident had never happened I would have already started my own company.. was sorta lost for awhile, but was inspired to go into nursing by the nurses that worked with me during my recovery
I'm definitely a left-winger in many regards, but I approach things pretty logically. While I'm very left on some issues, the environment for instance, I'm fairly centered on others, I definitely believe unions are breeding ground for inefficiency, whereas many leftist will defend them mercilessly. Select fields benefit from unions, but I can't think of many..

like the old saying goes, those who hate unions, arent in one, and jelly.
who wouldnt want 2 months vacation with 80k a year? everyone wants it, but the people who dont have it, like to bitch about it to try and bring everyone else to their shitty level.
leave it alone, let the people who have it keep it, if you want it, get it, dont ruin it for others
