Not true. Remember the thread about the vehicles with the most fatalities? 305Z is number one, despite being a 5-star rated vehicle in crash tests and having all the safety bells & whistles (ABS, traction control, stability control).

The 350Z gives the driver the feeling like they're "on rails" and this kind of false confidence is why the 350Z is #1.

I can remember several high-profile crashes over the last few years. There was the BMW at #1 and 1st avenue that killed (I think) 4 people, the BMW last year driving on the #1 through construction zone that hit a truck, the 350Z with the two Korean students and the 350Z downtown near BC Place. Two 350Z's and 3 BMW's. Too high to be a coincidence.

RIP to the passengers and a big fuck you to the driver.

Gotta hate....
rich ass asian parents buying their kids fancy bmw's thinking it's safe and shit....

should have bought him a shit box beat up civic or corolla like my broke ass parents did for me(very thankful I got a car to drive to school even though it's a shit box)...no way you can go fast on those unless you have miles of straight road...

RIP passengers...good luck to driver

asian_XL 05-12-2012 05:19 PM

^ WTF, which part says they are Asian?
even they are asian, what does it have to do with parents buying BMW? so a Mustang won't crash or a driver of Malibu won't drink and drive?

jpark 05-12-2012 05:24 PM

i dont think the cause has anything to do with the type of car that was being driven in the incident... same tragedy can happen by drinking and driving in a fucken 3 cylinder pontiac firefly

dude just shut the fuck up man... do you think they would have been better off running into a pole in a civic instead then?

RIP to the passengers, such a fucking shame.

In which case, all would have been killed.

kristianhay 05-12-2012 06:16 PM

The two who died are cousins to a good friend of mine... RIP. Stay safe out there everyone.

Datsun 05-12-2012 06:19 PM

Damn...right before Mother's Day too.

About the whole speeding thing: the car's capability leading to overconfidence is a valid point, but in the end it doesnt matter what youre driving. One has to RESPECT the power of any car because at their core, they're just rolling metal boxes just as lethal as the other.

spoon.ek9 05-12-2012 07:14 PM

this reminds me of a crash that happened back in highschool:
  • under aged driver with only an L
  • drunk
  • speeding
  • 2 fatalities
  • 1 crippled for life

what do these kids expect is going to happen when you put yourself into these situations?

RIP..

ilovebacon 05-12-2012 07:31 PM

rip!

extracrunchie 05-12-2012 07:43 PM

RIP, being young doesnt mean you are indestructible.

just like that accident in maple ridge recently involving 2 cars and drunk teens driving like idiots with their Ls/Ns, one of them was driving a van... 2 fatalities 3 seriously injured :/

or the more recent one where a guy took a u-turn while talking on his cell phone didn't see the pickup coming and collided and died :/

it doesnt matter what vehicle they're in people will drive like idiots especially teens/young adults

such a shame RIP

Not partially imo. They are fully responsible.

Crazy that the driver kills 2 brothers, and only got minor injuries... Just sick

I totally agree. I've done 180 in my civic. Any car is capable of unsafe speed and unsafe driving. It's all up to the person behind the wheel to control themselves so they don't do stupid shit like this. RIP. I've driven while intoxicated before and after ending up in the ditch I took myself through some deep personal therapy to make sure I never do such a stupid thing ever again.

nah 05-12-2012 10:15 PM

As a parent, I can't imagine the sorrow the parents feel. Condolences to the them, especially when it's this time of year when Mother's day is tomorrow and Father's day is next month.

Here's hoping karma gives it back to the driver.

that bmw on numba 1 few years back.. the driver was heavily intoxicated, and 2 other passengers were not wearing seat belts. ONE person who wore seat belt survived the crash..

so wear your fking seat belts.. i bet those bros weren't wearing seat belts..

Lost a friend awhile back from a car accident.. too young to die just like that. RIP.

RIP...

Used to seeing the victim walking around my neighborhood. They went to my elementary school before too. I sincerely hope that kids will remember this incident when they are faced with a similar choice and weigh the bleakness of this situation and that it could just as easily happen to them.
