They survive winter under the ice of northern lakes; some have even recovered from being frozen! The Northern Snakehead, in particular, thrives on conditions that are similar to many Canadian waters. If you REALLY want to eat this fish, then you can buy it, but already dead. It doesn't come into the country alive.
It's completely ridiculous that this loophole exists

They are known as Life fish.. because they are rather tough to kill even on the cutting board.
It is not a problem to the Federal Gov, since they have cut so deep at DFO etc.. there will be no one to monitor those fish, they can say it is not a problem. Quote:

They are fresh water fish, and a lot of times have parasites since they live fresh waters.. you don't want to have them as sashimi, they would have a strong taste of dirt. Quote:
