well 活魚 is kinda vague cuz it means "live fish" so it can mean any fish

I went by the pond today to see if I could spot it...but nope. Some douchey looking guy was there, with HIS SPEAR GUN, to see if he could kill it. I hope he knows the difference between Koi and Snakehead. I didn't hang around...

mercyboy 05-18-2012 09:57 PM

hahaah if it's gets too populated.instead of poison the pond..just send a bunch of old asian folks with there fishing lines..at least that will make them happy with a free lunch

godwin 05-18-2012 10:00 PM

The asian population eats it that's why it is sold in the first place. Supposedly it helps people recover from serious illness and surgery much quicker.

Canadian Gov just don't want to be liable to tell people to eat the invasive species.. eg there are tons of mitten crabs in the Saint Lawrence Seaway due to container ship traffic.. the gov doesn't do anything about it, even though it is a delicacy in China / HK/ Asia.

It is not the first invasive species (eg a lot of the cat fish species are not native in southern US).. I am surprised people are jumping up and down over it.. just like the killer bees that never panned out.

A single snakehead was caught, great news.

What guarantee do we have there was only one present in the lake?

wasabisashimi 06-08-2012 12:05 PM

I used to see snakehead fish at the big Al's and KingEd pet . I dont know if they still sell these, havent been there for a while. They are sold at size about 4inches

Thank god they got it.. and I really hope it was just the one. It really was like a scary movie reading about the facts that it can walk on land and eat things 3 times it size (aka my dog). Every time I see a picture or video of it I get shivers down my spine!.. and slightly want to puke...(I don't know how people can eat something that looks like that)
