Transfer sms from iphone to android

I switched over to a Galaxy Nexus after 4 years with an iphone. I have a lot of old text messages I would like to keep but Im having a hard time transferring them between the phones.

I've called a few local cell phone shops but they said they dont know how to do it. Would anyone know how to do this or point me towards someone that would. Thanks

Apple can't even use bluetooth to send files. I don't think there will ever b a way for them to sync with other phones

I got this done by using 3rd-party transfer software.
I used a hand tool to transfer SMS from iPhone to Android.
You can download this tool called Phone Transfer to do such a complicated job.

Excuse me for being ignorant but what in the world would someone need old texts for? Incriminating evidence against someone? I delete all my text threads every couple of days or so..

If you use Samsung, you can use Samsung Kies to transfer. It will take your iphone backup and convert the data to your android (something like that). I did that when I changed from my ip4 to note2

Easiest Solution

I actually JUST did this. Theres an app you can download (MyContactsBackup) to your iphone that backs up all your contacts to a .vcf file which you email to yourself. You open that email on your android and it will load all your contacts automatically.
