The iOS 6 Thread Didnt see a thread yet, so...... WWDC is next week and as usual iOS will be a major topic. So what are we going to see that's new? - iMaps to replace Google maps? - Turn by turn navigation? - Facebook integration? - Siri coming to other devices? - Will the 3GS be usable or will it slow to a crawl? |
Saw a "screenshot" of iOS6 having Mission Control (swipe upward from bottom). More excited about new Macbook Pros. If they're good enough, I'm buying one tomorrow. If they're not, grabbing some sort of Ultrabook. |
Apple's not even trying to hide it: iOS 6 banners go up before Monday's WWDC keynote | MobileSyrup.com "The world's most advanced mobile operating system" :fuckthatshit: |
looks like they're making quick use of their acquisition of C3 (maps) |
^ Don't forget Placebase and Poly9. |
The Google Maps app on ios is pretty bad compared to the Android one, so I can see why they ditched Google and bought one for themselves |
facebook integration LOL are you even trying says wp7 |
most advanced... hmmm.. can it archive/transfer SMS now?? lol |
So.. Nothing about a new iPhone yet but the new MacBook Pro is SICK. |
$2200 :fuckthatshit: Good for media creation and development Everyone else, just penis compensation |
apple will part way with google maps and launch own map app Apple intros new Passbook app into iOS 6, stores your Airplane tickets, loyalty cards and more iOS 6 on iPhone 3GS and later, iPad 2 and later, and 4th gen ipod touch |
Apple is really into milking China's money this time around offering China features and apps in both iOS/Mountain Lion |
If they have it at the Apple Store, I'm gonna try to buy the new Retina MBP today. That screen is sick. Wonder how long it will take Adobe Lightroom to have a retina version...or will I have to swap to Aperture? |
|
The new MBP is damn sick. |

That 3D satellite maps is pretty cool. Ill give it that much. Facetime over cellular data pretty much confirm the next iphone to support LTE. Nice. |

The retina screen is interesting, but why do you need it so high res? I would've preferred if they just had a 1080p screen (which isn't offered on either the 13" or the 15" macbook pros. That and glossy screens. I hate them, they're retarded. and i disagree with doing away with the ethernet port. Yes, everyone has wireless now, but tons of people have shitty wireless routers that doesn't reach everywhere with a strong signal. For speed, I would definitely want to be plugged in, especially if you're at a desk. Optical drives, I still use them, but I can see why they did away with them. It definitely frees up a lot of space. and it's funny how much they marketed Thunderbolt (which is great, don't get me wrong), but they finally accepted USB 3.0. |
can't wait to use maps. google maps sucked monkey balls! |
I wanted ethernet but you can probably find a good USB to ethernet or thunderbolt to ethernet. It's a thick port so they wanted to scrap it. I won't miss the optical. I haven't put a DVD into my desktop for at least 5 years. None available at Richmond Center although they have the new MacBook Air. I think I'll just order online. I want the student discount anyways. |
Yeah, Thunderbolt to ethernet = $29. |
Their map is an exact copy of Nokias 3D Maps and that's because Apple bought the company that Nokia contracted to make the maps http://maps.nokia.com/3D/ for example http://maps.nokia.com/51.500465,-0.1...,115,45,3d.day |
Wow, ios6 already? I just updated 5.1.1 lol... |
I am looking forward to comparing the accuracy of the new maps app to google maps. If it is not at least 99% accurate, it is a fail. You don't want to be in the middle of nowhere, counting on a map application that is wrong. |
