You guys thinking Ehrhoff's lifelong contract should have been matched by MG are crazy, almost as crazy as those who think we should have matched what Tampa threw at Salo for 2 years. This is the same MG who refused Hank and Dank super long term contracts which would have seen them retire as Canucks because at that point in their careers they hadn't earned the lifelong contract yet.

RiceIntegraRS 03-09-2013 12:25 AM

^We shouldnt of had to match Buffalos contract offer. Ehrhoff should of been signed before he became a FA. MG offered him Bieksa type money, but Ehrhoff was looking for alil bit more. MG stood firm and Ehrhoff left. In the end hockey wise, both sides lost. But obviously Ehrhoff is laughing alll the way to the bank.

Ive always been a MG supporter but some of the non re-signings hes made left me scratching my head. Obviously hes made moves to help fill the void, but hasnt panned out as well as we hoped.

So apparently Matt Hackett is gonna be starting tomorrow..

AHL goalie....heh.. we'll see how it goes

edit:
if the Wild beat the Preds today and us tomorrow (in regulation) we'll drop down to the 9th seed hypothetically

We're only halfway through the season, don't worry too much about the standings right now. Not to say the Canucks can slack off, but as fans, no need to hit the panic button. As LA showed last year you only need to get into the playoffs.

There are only 4 points separating 3rd through 11th place as of right now, so a couple game swing by any team can make a huge difference in standings.

E60_M5 03-09-2013 02:54 PM

Schneider gets the start for us tomorrow.

lol everybody in this thread thinks im panicking when im just stating facts through all my posts

i rather we just drop down to 9th so AV is forced to make some adjustments

lets just not forget the past two seasons only the NW division winner made it into the playoffs

"we're only half way thru the season" is bullshit. we're a little over a month from the end of the season. we're in that push for the playoffs drive now. if the season started on time, wed be like 80% done the season at this point.

and a couple of games swing with only 4 points separating a division win from missing the playoffs goes both ways and is even more of a big deal when the canucks are trending towards losing games against teams they are fighting for playoff spots against.

the canucks are playing like garbage and not winning games. turning this kind of play around doesnt take 2 games, if they are going to turn it around and make a push to build some confidence and momentum it has to happen in the next handful of games.

LA was out of the playoffs at this point last year and got into the playoffs by putting it all together when it counts, and continuing that momentum with the whole team gelling.

Lol the posts in this thread are either overly positive or negative.

That halfway through the season shit doesn't apply to your team when they've been playing like ass for over a calendar year

Leafs are a good example of what a new coach can do.

I've always been a big fan of Carlyle.

Vancouver Canucks Sued by Italian Sports Psychologist Hired After Stanley Cup Loss to Bruins by Dan Duquette Jr. on Sat, Mar 9, 2013 at 5:31PM Comments (4) inShare

It has been said that the Bruins got inside Roberto Luongo‘s head during the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. It appears that to some extent, one of the owners of the Vancouver Canucks agrees — and those mind games are now headed to the courts. According to Italian sports psychologist Bruno Demichelis, Canucks co-owner Francesco Aquilini hired him away from soccer club Chelsea after Vancouver’s loss to Boston because “he was very concerned about the physical and psychological condition of the Canucks players, and the negative impact it had on their performance in the Stanley Cup final.” Now, Demichelis is suing the team for wrongful dismissal and breach of contract after he was fired during the NHL lockout. According to The Canadian Press, Demichelis is suffering “mental distress” as a result of his firing, considering he moved his family to Vancouver to work for the Canucks. The Vancouver franchise has yet to comment on the lawsuit./
