Fwwwwwwk! Tough loss. |
Seriously hope we don't get matched up against the Blues in the first round |
lucky to even get a point out of this game, fuck we better not play Blues in first round |
:okay: |
We needed Bieksa tonight for sure |
Anyone planning to YOLO on the Canucks outdoor game? If shitty seats in Vancouver are expensive, might as well fly down to LA and watch the game in the sun. :fullofwin: |
A Canucks vs. Minnesota first round match up is definitely more favorable that playing the Blues. -just looking at the game stats on tsn.ca shows how dominant St. Louis is in the faceoffs. Backes won 15 out of 21 in faceoffs. Berglund was 8 out of 13 in the faceoff circle. Kesler won 12 out of 23. Henrik won 7 out of 11 faceoffs. Ebbett: A weak sauce of 2 faceoffs won out of 9. If these teams played each other in the first round, we gotta get better in winning faceoffs. -cannot generate many scoring chances if the other team has the puck more often than you. |
How does an outdoor game work in SoCal. Isn't it too hot for the ice? lol  |
u guys have to realize the nucks did play a game last night and had to fly out to St. Louis over all took a point from a game which we shouldnt have been in. |

We've lost twice to STL twice this year, BOTH in the SHOOTOUT (in case you didnt know shootouts dont exist in playoffs). MIN on the other hand, we lost twice in REGULATION. Think about that a little...just a little. |
Awesome game to watch. Tough loss but thems are the breaks sometimes.. |
I wanna face the wild in the playoffs and rekindle that rivalry from 2003. |
This would be ideal imo: CHI ANA VAN LA MIN SJ STL DET I don't wanna play St.Louis or LA in the first round at all, both are just big and bruising. Chicago-Detroit would be a nice Original 6 match up to end this year as Detroit is moving to a different conference. Anaheim, LA, Minnesota, and St.Louis are tough and if they beat each other up, whatever the match ups may be, that would be awesome. |

I'm just saying our puck possession needs to improve in the playoffs so that we can generate more scoring chances. Attention to details is important such as the faceoffs. -gotta pay attention to these things in order to get the wins in the playoffs. And No, I've looked at the Blues faceoff stats from other games this season, not just tonight's game. I focussed on Backes because he takes many faceoffs against our top centres. The stats from the February 17th game do not lie. Kesler and Henrik did not do well in faceoffs against this guy. -similar results in tonight's game too when it came to faceoff matchups. February 17th faceoff stats: BACKES, DAVID 1-3 / 33% 5-7 / 71% 8-10 / 80% 14-20 / 70% vs. 17 C KESLER, RYAN 1-2 / 50% 1-3 / 33% 5-7 / 71% 7-12 / 58% vs. 33 C SEDIN, HENRIK 3-3 / 100% 2-2 / 100% 5-5 / 100% vs. 40 C LAPIERRE, MAXIM 0-1 / 0% 0-1 / 0% vs. 45 C SCHROEDER, JORDAN 1-1 / 100% 1-1 / 100% 2-2 / 100% |
