Lol, no wonder we didnt re-sign him

van19 07-01-2012 01:32 PM

Yup. It's for real. Damn. Really need to pick up a D now

Hondaracer 07-01-2012 01:33 PM

Meh good for Salo, he wasn't gonna get that here nice money to end a career and he's much closer to Finland being on the east coast

drakeD 07-01-2012 01:33 PM

Salo signs 2 yr with tampa bay $7.5

*beat me to it

Harvey Specter 07-01-2012 01:35 PM

Wow, $7.5 is some serious coin for Salo. He was making what a million last season? Plus he gets to play in Tampa, can't really ask for more.

murd0c 07-01-2012 01:36 PM

I'm so :okay: right now. In Gillis we trust

b0unce. [?] 07-01-2012 01:38 PM

jerche 07-01-2012 01:41 PM

I bet Gillis wanted less than $2M and a one year contract for Salo

Do something Gillis..

b0unce. [?] 07-01-2012 01:42 PM

I mean, I guess when you think about. Salo's salary before was a bit insulting. He was definitely worth more than a mil. Definitely thought he was gonna retire here.

Verdasco 07-01-2012 01:43 PM

our team is lucky that they are taking home discounts, they can not pull that shit again, it is way way too greedy. Good luck my favorite canucks D :okay:

kwy 07-01-2012 01:45 PM

$2 million on a two year contract iirc

Really sad to see him go, MG better have something big in the works... Salo deserved to retire here.

Grandmaster TSE 07-01-2012 01:46 PM

damn, TB loves our Dmen

BMW M5 07-01-2012 01:48 PM

other teams loading up players while we are sitting here doing nothing. As of right now our team looks worst than last year

henrik33 07-01-2012 01:49 PM

dw we're just saving up for garrison and weber :fullofwin:

drakeD 07-01-2012 01:51 PM

Jordan Staal signed same size contract with carolina that pitts offered him.
$60M 10yrs.
He gets to play with his brother and as number 1/2 centre.
Understandable since he would be always behind crosby and malkin

Maybe next year but what the heck are we going to do this year? This isn't looking good at all right now but I have faith in Gillis and he does know whats goin on. All these teams pay high prices then he can go in and save some cash.

Wait until the Lu deal is done then we will be able to make some moves. I still so hope we get Doan if he does decide to leave the Coyotes.

pure.life 07-01-2012 01:57 PM

The Canucks winning percentage is pretty high with Salo dressed. Sad to see him go for sure

b0unce. [?] 07-01-2012 02:00 PM

Thats really not reassuring. Like Ohlund , was Salo was a big part of our team. He deserved to retire here. Best of luck Salo
