In Toronto, playoff tickets start at $56.75 and in Montreal they start at $63.
Yeah, ok. Media sensationalism at its finest.

I doubt regular season games at either city even start at those prices. Maybe those are the prices for season's ticket holders? Or it's been so long since the Leafs have been in the playoffs they are still going off of information from the last time?

Of course scalpers *cough ticket brokers* aren't happy, their margins are getting cut into.

That's why we have nice tv's and couches in our homes boys :D

I'm more worried about the apathy of the team going in, I was unfortunately in attendance at that "game" last night and there was no emotion whatsoever... I hate that shit going into the playoffs whether they are purposely resting guys or not, intensity isn't a light switch you can just flip on, you go in feeling all flat and country clubbish "Meh what does it matter?" and you're down 2 game to 0 before you can blink an eye......... look at the Detroit Red Wings all these years... teams that are successful never take their foot off the gas pedal, should go into the post season on a high... not sitting around on twitter making fun of each other's genetalia.

Would you prefer that a couple players, knowing they've clinched the division and can't move in the standings anyway, go into that game at full intensity, crash the net, and break a wrist or something?

Hondaracer 04-26-2013 01:17 PM

Rather watch playoffs at home the way the atmosphere has been there last few years anyways

can't play the game being fearful of injuries. they will happen whether you are careful or not. i agree that i would have prefer the canucks realize you can't just flip a switch on/off and keep on the pedal. momentum has to be generated and then maintained.

Lots of empty seats on TM.

In 2011, I remember buying R1G4 (vs. Chicago) in section 306 row 15 for $156 per ticket fees in.

This year... $223 for round 1??
:seriously:

Vansterdam 04-26-2013 01:35 PM

lets jack up prices during the short season

yea sounds like a good plan :fuckthatshit:

They will jack them up every year regardless. Season ticket pricing for 2014 went up already as well. Its pretty damn sad when I can't even sell my tickets for face value for upper bowl these days. The prices of tickets makes games inaccessible now.

Game 4 wasn't played in Vancouver.

Canucks general manager Mike Gillis said Thursday night that goaltender Cory Schneider will rest until the start of the playoffs.

1. A tough call for the Canucks on Schneider's "body injury." You can't fault them for wanting him to rest, but it means his Game 1 playoff start will come after seven or eight days of non-action. Not easy.

Leafs fans have had 9 years to save up for their playoff tickets :troll: they probably won't mind spending a couple hundred for upper bowl seats lol.

Tim Budong 04-26-2013 02:09 PM

R1G4 means 4th home game of the round. That's how they are listed as.

High potential of upset could happen if playoffs started today. Best possible playoff matchups too

I hear ya. I was able to sell mine this year easily but for next year I'm considering dropping from Upperbowl 1 to 2.

It's possible that all Original 6 teams will face off with each other in the first round. That would be crazy.

ForbiddenX 04-26-2013 02:23 PM

Really excited for that Toronto vs Montreal series. I think it's going to be a pretty intense match up.

604778 04-26-2013 02:24 PM

Montreal and Toronto would be really fun to watch.

Hondaracer 04-26-2013 02:28 PM

I think STL LA would be fun as well

Sure, but at the same time, you can't be making those sacrifice-the-body moves in a close game when you know the outcome of the game won't affect anything.

R1G4 would be game 7 for the home team.

UFO 04-26-2013 03:36 PM

I'm too lazy to look this up, but what would actual game 4 be listed as?

I would think the Canucks know they can't just flip a switch and get going, see last year's later half of the season and leading into the playoffs. I feel like they've learned some lessons the last couple seasons, in some ways they were too cocky and 'processy' in 10-11 while boot stomping everybody in the regular season. Last year they were too laid back and chill just waiting for the playoffs to arrive. This year, while still sticking with the process, I feel like they understand (not just know) that they have to kick it up a gear or two.

R1G2 (home game 2) for the lower-seeded team.

bballguy 04-26-2013 04:13 PM

Oilers up on Wild 1-0!! If they lose this game, Detroit can come in 7th by winning their last game against Dallas...and then I can go to game 1 :)

Minnesota gets fucked in that series.
