Its a field day for the team after that

oh well, I wish that someone from the team will make a stupid ass remark during the playoffs. I really hope that it be someone not expected to make a stupid remark, meaning anyone but Juice or Kesler or Luongo

Keith's appearance makes me think of him as someone who would hold a shotgun while telling someone to get the fuck off his lawn

iwantaskyline 04-22-2013 11:58 PM

That was a love tap. Daniel tripped from Crawford.

Blackhawks' Duncan Keith takes heat over 'first female referee' swipe | Hockey | Sports | Toronto Sun

LOL.
"First female referee. You can't probably play either, right? But you're thinking the game, like you know it? See ya."

Agree on the part that people who don't play pretend they know the game HAHAHA. ouch.

PS. I do agree that it was a slash

SkinnyPupp 04-23-2013 04:22 AM

Winning the NW division is like being a ringer in the Special Olympics.. they might as well have given them the title at the beginning of the season :lawl:

I think I said that before, when someone suggested Edmonton would be a threat this year... Maybe when they get a goalie and some defense?

She's pretty. Would you want to tap that? I would rather tap
her than slash Keith in response to his cheap hits. ;-)

That slash that Keith did is the standard play for almost every breakaway in the league, better get your panties in a knot though cause its against Daniel!

It wasn't half as bad as It looked initially

Fixed.

I played witha dman who used to slash guys all the time and it wasn't how hard the slash was, but the sound it made where he'd hit them. Right on the pants leg or shin pad. "BOOM" made it easy for the refs to call..

Well actually my worldview and opinion says, yes.

So people who have nice things that are beyond necessary are doing it for status rather than simply having these things bring them joy. Um, okay...

That's what I thought when I saw the reply last night.

But seeing a few more angles of Hank's outlet pass and Dank's move/goal, you can see Keith takes a pretty good swing with no attempt towards the puck, it was straight to his arm/upper body. A bit more than a love tap I'd say. Daniel tripped over Crawford, the slash didn't do anything for his balance IMO

It doesn't take much to break an arm, just a freak slash in the right place at the wrong time. Had the slash injured Daniel we'd all have our panties in a tighter bunch. Keith could have dove and swung at the puck/Daniel's feet and it would have been a cleaner play even if it trips him up, at least it makes it look like he was trying to play some D.

Gumby 04-23-2013 10:31 AM

Defenders will hook, slash, anything to disrupt the person on a breakaway. But Keith is a douche and has history with Daniel so it's not surprising that he acted in such a manner.

Even if the ref's arm went up, the penalty would be annulled after Daniel's goal, no?

TMIW.. If the Canucks-Hawks meet in playoffs, every local media outlet should assign a female reporter to work the visitors room.. #fun

punkwax 04-23-2013 10:35 AM

If Daniel didn't score I'm sure Keith would've been given 2.

Hondaracer 04-23-2013 10:46 AM

If he slashes at his feet and he trips it's a penalty shot

If he slashes him in the waist and it interrupts his move its only a penalty

Hockey's such a great sport, but it really puzzles me why the mindless stick swinging like that is expected from a dman,
and even though it's usually penalized, it's still in general, accepted as an "ok, natural hockey-play" thing to do.

Didn't seem to add any entertainment value...
(or maybe it did with the media)

I've been watching hockey for almost 2 decades, and I'm not trying to "pussify" the sport,
but sometimes, actions that seem to be accepted as normal in hockey seem so :fulloffuck:

Hondaracer 04-23-2013 11:21 AM

When your two steps behind on a break away what would be the alternative?

uh.. I don't think their main concern is entertainment... He's swinging at Daniel to throw him off and prevent him from making a play to score. When you're two steps behind a breakaway, what else can you do to help out your goalie?

trancehead 04-23-2013 11:51 AM

i think AznNightmare's meant when he said entertainment is that

the fact that the league allows rough stuff because it gives enterainment value
and of course this would trickle down to what the refs deem as a penatly and what is not
