when the ship is sinking of course someone is to blame. right now its pretty obvious that the players shit the bed here but there's nothing wrong to examine from the top down as well and i think its completely fair to criticize MG/AV.

I really liked what Gillis has done since he got here but his recent moves have sucked - stuff like not solving the Luongo issue, keeping Ballard and his 4.2m in the press box, and not getting another 6/7th defenseman at the deadline (I mean come on, anyone would have been better than Barker - he got waived by an AHL team!).

This team is still good enough to get into the playoffs but not good enough to win it all. IMO that's the worst position to be in. You can't have 12.2m in the Sedins not show up in the playoffs every single year. I hope they go for a full-on rebuild.

It seems like everyone wants to blame everyone BUT the players though. They just can't get it done... is it the coaches fault? GM? Maybe, but why not look at the actual players for once?

Like I said before, if they weren't in the retard division, they would probably not even be in the playoffs this year. They have benefited from being in the retard division for the last 3-4 seasons, which is why those presidents trophies are essentially meaningless. And it's especially the case in this shortened season where you play your division even more than usual.

absolutely! i do agree its on the players for failing the past couple of years. however, if the players sucking is the main problem, they certainly can't trade themselves. regardless, there will be a change this year and its always going to be the coach first. i would be surprised if AV is still here next year.

also, the NW division may be retarded but in the president trophy years, the canucks do have an excellent record against the central and pacific divisions too.

New GM, new coach, sell whatever assets are marketable. All of it. 2-3 years of being in the tank will help restock the cupboard.
