Canucks were about middle of the pack with injuries. See how the Sens respond to key injured players. Injuries are part of the game

I'd love to have Roy back at 4-4.5M, fat chance he sticks around with that offer though since he'll want Kesler+ money

Mike Oxbig 05-08-2013 12:25 PM

I want luongo to be back, if he gets traded i want Gillis to be fired because he fucked up signing him to a 10 yr contract then traded him.

Before band wagoners jumped on early 2011. It was Luongo's team, although he is aging we still have Lack and Cannata. Schneids is not fully 100% proven yet maybe 90% if he fucks up fans gonna be crying to play Lack or Cannata... another controversy!

Tim Budong 05-08-2013 12:28 PM

At this point, Luongo's contract is the fault of ownership courting his services with a big fat contract

I dont think it was 100% Gillis that put that together.

regardless, I want Luongo back, as i've been a fan of the guy

Hondaracer 05-08-2013 12:30 PM

I think resigning Roy for 4 or over would be insanity.

lol watch Connauton develop into a solid top 4 D-man ala Ehrhoff, and that 2nd round pick become a top 6 forward

would feelbadman

Canucks have shown that insanity isn't too far out of their day to day norm

He can also single handedly hand the opposing team a cup too!

:fuckthatshit:

I'm guessing you didn't know Bernier already played for the Canucks back in 09 and there's a reason why they didn't keep him until now (think a bigger version of Raymond--aka useless)

Mike Oxbig 05-08-2013 12:41 PM

^ How many times have you worn your Kassian jersey so far bro

Tim Budong 05-08-2013 12:46 PM

Twins and Edler are going to play at the worlds

Sedin brothers join Tre Kronor

spideyv2 05-08-2013 12:50 PM

lmfao at Bernier being more effective than Kassian

o ok

Bonka 05-08-2013 12:51 PM

Connauton was usually a healthy scratch down in Chicago and he was used as a forward for practices. He lost his spot to Andersson.

But knowing Canucks luck, that second round is probably going to be a top 6 haha.

This is how I see our line up for next season.

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows
X - Kesler - X
Higgins - X - Hansen
X - Lapierre - X

Insert X with the current forwards of Kassian, Sestito, Weise, Pinnozotta, maybe Booth.

Don't think Raymond/Ebbett/Roy is coming back.

Edler Garrison
Hamhuis Bieksa
Alberts Tanev
Corrado

Out - Ballard, Barker.

Going to be fun seeing what changes we get.

LOL guy in gif looks like Gillis :lawl:

spideyv2 05-08-2013 12:56 PM

feel a little bad for AV men, can't really blame him for some of these games, as the team showed absolutely 0 heart...but then again, his favouritism was brutal

bballguy 05-08-2013 12:57 PM

LOL, we are going to buy out Ballard, and he's going to be awesome under a different coach.

Teams get two amnesty buyouts over next two summers | ProHockeyTalk

Quote:

NHL clubs will have to adjust to a $64.3 million salary cap in 2013-14 as part of the tentative new CBA, but they will each get two amnesty buyouts to help them through the transition, according to CP’s Chris Johnston and Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos.

The debate on which players will be bought out will start immediately, but teams don’t need to rush to a decision. NHL franchises will be allowed to use the buyouts starting this summer and they will also have the opportunity to exercise them during the 2014 off-season. They can buy out two players simultaneously or spread them out if they wish.

The players bought out will still receive two-thirds of what’s left on their contract, but those costs will not count towards the salary cap. However, they will still count towards the players’ share of hockey-related revenues.

Given that the first amnesty buyout period won’t start until this summer, some potential candidates will have the opportunity to try to avoid that fate by performing admirably during the shortened season.

inb4 Alex Sulzer becomes top 4 in Buffalo (or where he signs) after he gets a full training camp with full recovery from surgery

(notsrs)

still can't get over the fact we traded (Quinton Howden), Grabner, and Bernier for Ballard to sit in the press box...

inb4 he becomes an impact player

Mike Oxbig 05-08-2013 01:12 PM

hope to see Gillis canned before AV does... let the new GM decide if AV should stay

The whole city is mad at him for trading Hodgson due to his butt hurt problems. It doesn't matter if Kassian turns out to be Bertuzzi V2.

i'm pretty sure hodgson was simply asset management.

hodgson and his 'camp' wanted out, and Gillis was forced to net the best return he could at that specific time.

highfive 05-08-2013 01:48 PM

The only thing I was critical of MG about the Coho trade was he actually didn't shop him to other teams. I remember reading a tweet somewhere that some GMs would've been interested in him if they knew he was available. I felt that at that time, we could've used more of a veteran player than banking on a younger player like Kassian in the playoffs.

Then it shows how long management has targeted Kassian and wanted him here. It shows the confidence they have in him that he will become the player they see. And only time will tell if he ever becomes that player.

Hope he does, for the longest time so many people said the Sedins would be nothing more then 2nd liners at best.

That dumbass penalty Kassian took in game 1 when we had the 1-0 lead pretty much fucked us for the whole series

And yea, we need to keep Luongo. We'll probably get a bag of pucks for him in return. He still has atleast 3 seasons left in him. Whereas if we trade Schnieder we can get a higher return for the final push before we enter rebuilding time..
