Haha nice Tim... picks this time because he knows he's sitting on his thumb for the whole season and doesn't have to deal with the fallout. I love the whole nation falling under god's wrath bit... lol... religious people sure use violent words a lot for a bunch of people that supposedly promote caring about others :D |

Cody Hodgeson leased a mini at the begining of the season last year. The twins admitted they both drive black RR's. Can't remember who got it first but the other one liked it and bought one too. On Canucks TV, last season they had a camera guy follow the nucks back from a road trip and showed them getting into their cars and on that day, a lot of them were in RR's. |
For all we know, car companies could be giving/lending cars for these players to drive... It's good publicity! But then Burrows' M3, Salo's GTR - those are probably personal choices. |
What a waste of time pages 92 and 93 were. I get criticized for talking hockey pools and which prospects will be good yet people are having a debate about how many Canucks drive Audis? :fulloffuck: Anyways, you guys should read this blog entry on the Semin signing. Lots of people criticized him, but the author basically says Nash should be held to the same standard. Holding Nash to the same standard as Semin | Backhand Shelf | Blogs | theScore.com |
I don't know why Thomas feels the need to say this shit. If he just said nothing, no one would be like "Oh shit, why hasn't Tim Thomas given us his opinion of gay marriage?" Religion would just be better if people didn't feel the need to push their shit on others. |

so, even though Thomas is sitting out a year, can he really escape the fallout? especially when the mayor of Boston says this: http://hypervocal.com/wp-content/upl.../07/chick.jpeg |
More Shane Doan rumors Report: Doan seeks four years, $30M if he leaves Coyotes If we're really in contention for Doan (and willing to pay that price), I wonder if this will push MG's hand to move Luongo earlier than he wanted to. |
if Timmy doesn't play, this is a good way to keep himself in the public eye his political view put him in the spotlight. as long as he is talking shit, he will be in the spotlight, come January when he decides he wants to play again, people will take notice and he will say more stupid crap. |
Maybe Thomas is aiming for a job in politics? Re: cars driven by the players. They may sound nice, but honestly if you're downtown on a regular basis, 911s, late-model Range Rovers, and Maseratis are a pretty common sight here. I saw an Aston Martin sedan on my way to work this morning, in fact. Even GTRs are nothing special, IMHO. If they were driving vintage roadsters on the other hand... |

We need him to win a cup as long has he doesn't have a NTC maybe win a cup here and then trade him back to Phoenix if stuff get's figured out. Players like him don't come around often and paying him more shouldnt matter. |

^ im sorry but doan and stamkos cant make the same amount. and doan is past his prime, where as semin is in his. |
players can be paid more than the sedans. Sundin 1 year 10 million |
Doan is overrated as fuck. Jesus Christ. 7.5 fucking million? Wow. What exactly has he accomplished in his career? Yes, I know he's been playing with a shitty franchise his whole career, but Shane himself isn't exactly "elite" status. Shane is passed his prime, and having a 40 year old at a $7.5 mill caphit on your team is never a good investment (unless you're Nick Lidstrom). Yes, he has good leadership qualities, but so does Manny Malhotra. $7.5 mill for a guy who will most likely get 25 goals next season, tops? Pass. |

In free agency, there is no such thing as "worth". |
Of course Semin's not worth $7 million, but there's little risk for a one year deal, whereas Doan will be 40 when his contract expires. |

Fuck doan, if hes askin for that much, i think theres better options somewhere else via trade |

If any team signs Doan, it may be one of the baller teams like Rangers or Flyers that are willing to sign Doan. Let those suckers sign him at 7.5 million per year. If the Canucks are looking for a solid power forward with offensive skill, they might as well consider a trade to get Bobby Ryan than this over the hill Doan. |
Bobby Ryan would be nice. But would Anaheim trade him to us? |
For the right deal, teams could be convinced to move a player within the conference of Ryan's caliber but usually stars are dealt to the other coast. Bobby Ryan would cost us like...Edler and a 1st probably. |
